ALL money belongs to God. If you think about it, if God had not blessed you to have life, health and strength you would not be able to work and get paid. We brought nothing into this world and will take nothing out of it. I pay tithes on my regular job and my part time babysitting jobs. I do this because I love God and want to obey him. Those who do not pay tithes are "cursed with a curse." So we are kind of paying and returning tithes. God will bless you for paying tithes!

It doesn't matter what you call it, the point is giving back the 10%; the terminology would depend on the circumstances, situation and location.

So, you could either PAY tithes to the church.

OR

You could RETURN tithes to God.

OR

You could simply GIVE tithes.

Hope that helps.

Malachi is under the law of Moses. In the age of grace we live in today we are not under that law. Romans 6: 14 For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace. Under grace we can give as we like. 2 Corinthians 9: 7 Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.

Very good question! Since everything is owned by God, I guess we are privileged to return some of what we have been given. Taken that way, it's a little easier to give.

We return a portion of what God has blessed us with. It is His money and we are to be good stewarts of it. We should give gladly,as God loves a cheerful giver. And we can't outgive the Father. It is a privilege and a blessing that is returned to us,so much more!

it's a privilege and an obligation to pay tithes to God, if not for him you wouldn't have anything.

We give God what belongs to Him. Uncle Sam just takes it without asking, but God waits to see what you are going to do with it. After all we are nothing without Him. He is a God that gives us all things. Its a way to say thankyou.
