I like to capture the beauty and nature of people and objects. You can see how they are exposed to real life. They have many different aspects from their inner self. I am not exactly the artistic photographer, but I rather collect the interesting photos. I also take pictures, as part of investigation.

The assumption is that what a camera sees so too can a human. But the way a camera sees the world and captures it on film is quite differnt than how our eyes view something and record it into our memories, memories and images are not a 1 to 1 ratio. Images are suppose to be truth, what are memories record is suppose to be reality. However, distorted lenses, long exposures, photoshop, darkrooms can distort the truth of the moment in phoro just the same as how our memories can perceive something as happening which didnt really occur such as david coperfield making the statue of liberty dissapear. I think what I love most about photography is its duality, how in our minds we associate photography with real life, when in fact photography like our perceptions and memories reveals some kind of meta or hyper reality, which though we live in, suggest the existence of some kind of hyper or meta-reality.

I find the world a wonderful place to explore and understand. The camera is merely a tool that can freeze moments in time and allow me to review what I "thought" I saw. I also am allowed a certain degree of control with a camera. I determine the shutter speed and exposure. I choose when and where to point the device and most importantly WHEN TO PUSH THE BUTTON. Yes I may have a boss who assigned the situation and he may have given me specific requirements to cover but I and I alone am responsible for choosing the moment to release the shutter. (No I'm not on a power trip......quite the opposite, I attempt to capture the situation in a representative manner and I take the responsibility very serious.) I want to understand why people act a certain way, why did they decide to pull a gun and start shooting....why they are still living in tents a year after a hurricane. For me to do this I have to be there to record the event, witness life at that specific moment. I love being a photographer.....

This question's kind of funny.... it's so easy to answer that it's actually quite complex. I could tell you I love it because it's a different way of letting people see through my eyes. I could tell you it's my way of letting off some steam. I could even tell you I like it because it's art. But I won't tell you any of those. No, my reason is: photography is, like this question, complex in it's simplicity. Anyone can take a picture. But it takes someone with their whole heart in it to take a good picture. And it takes someone with a lot of heart, patience, understanding, care, focus, and devotion to make a great picture. Photography's demanding, in a way. It's not something you can just do once and say, "Mmkay, done!" You have to want to take a good picture; you have to have the mindset for it. There's so much feeling and emotion in photography.... that's why I love it.

Photography can capture an image in a way no other art form can. It is an actual image of a true moment frozen in time. If you really look into a photo, you can see the beauty that surrounds us everyday but is overlooked. I think photography is my way of stopping time and realizing whats around me. It truly is an amazing art form.

it captures beauty and expressions that the eyes can't , even having it right in front. When the people enjoy of certain moments in life with the beloved ones sometimes the details or faces are forgotten, but there is the captured image of those special moments to remind the exact details, expressions, and even feelings of those special moments, Besides we can see how the time passes by through Photography. But i really enjoy how Photographers have the ability to see beauty where there is none, at least where we think there is none.

I like azngurl's answer. This is exactly how I feel about photography. I am in no way a professional photographer, but I like to carry my camera around just in case I see something of interest, something beautiful that I'd like to capture. I also like to take photos of the people who surround me. Years later, I look at these photos and they help me to remember some great times in my life.

I like photography because I can capture and record bits of the world in ways that human eyes and brains never can.
blurs, distortions, time lapse, depth of field, stopped motion, etc.

as they say, a picture is worth a thousand words. through photography, you can find beauty in the most unlikely of places. photographs are a means of showing and sharing experiences with those close by, or with the world. you put a little of your own self in every picture.

There are some who just have an eye that can capture the emotion, mood and feel of their subject.
I would like to spend more time taking photographs of various subjects but my time it limited to snapshots of the kids.
It is interesting how using different types of lens settings create various visual effects.
How a persons perceives things through their captured visual expression is a part of them exposed like a small window to their soul.
