Sucks to know I'll automatically NOT get 10 points here....

I don't hate police officers. I don't hate anything about police officers. I rather love police officers.

Several of my friends are in law enforcement and not only do I admire what they do for the little pay they do it... but I admire the team mindset and brotherhood mentality shared by all officers. They truly do have each others backs in every situation (or they try to) and it's understood that at some point, that mindset might save your life or someone else's.

I knew a guy who died, on Christmas Day, working a huge drug bust by going in the back door while his partner went in the front. He left behind a young son and a pregnant wife. The devastation from this event, I believe, was the catalyst for his son's suicide 11 years later. To be the son of a local hero took its toll. He watched as a school was named for his father... and scholarships were handed out... and between the pressure of being the son who HAD to be JUST as heroic and perfect as his father... and not having that father alive to guide his path... it was too much.

He carried his dad's name... and the weight of his life and death until he couldn't take it any more.

Actually, I guess I CAN answer the question. The one thing I hate most about police officers is that they sometimes die in the line of duty and it's hard for me to justify that the capture of one skanky slob, drug dealer or crook is worthy of the devastation to a family and community when the officer's life is lost.

Unfortunately, they have been put in a position of power. This is not their fault, it's just a job, and someone has to do it. I myself am in the military, so I know a little of a cops life in empathetic fashion.

Whenever anyone is in a position of power, they will naturally come to take that power for granted, and (even if only accidentally) they will abuse that power. Human beings forced into a dominant role will behave dominantly. Those on the other side of the door the police officers bust down are forced into a submissive role, and will also behave accordingly. Thus we see one of the most basic problems of government: There can be no interaction between the dominant and the submissive that does not require them to fill there roles, and so we lose human contact. When all we are is the roles we play, we are no longer ourselves.

Police officers may be fine people at home, but when he comes into my house, he becomes my enemy.

Celebrate not the cause of police officers, nor celberate the cause of those that fight against them. As is always true, it is most appropriate to mourn the loss of your enemies, and to remember them with a full heart.

I hate bad cops. A lot of the kids I grew up with who became cops were bullies, drug users, and did not do well in the classroom. So now you are giving these type of people guns and power?

There are good cops who want to serve the public and there are others that are loose cannons. I feel like more consideration should be given to background checks and personality tests to make sure only competent police are on the streets.

I hate that when many police officers, even otherwise nice guys, get in a police car, it makes them feel as though they have the right to violate any rule of the road that isn't convenient for them at the time. Shouldn't they lead by example?

I hate that there isn't more of them

I hate that they take the kind of verbal abuse I see on here and they still have to protect you. They should be able to walk off when people like "YOU" need help. I would

I hate it when they get killed or injured protecting people that don't appreciate it
and in your case don't deserve it

But what I hate the most about them is that they haven't put a obvious loser like you away where you can't get to a computer!

When you say police officers, do you mean the "black shirted bully boys" that pass themselves off as a police force?
