Would you choose them again if you had the chance?

Yes, I love mine. They get on my nerves sometimes, but all in all I'd say I'm lucky to have them both.

I had some horrendous rows with my parents when I was growing up, which culminated in me leaving home at 17 to live with a boyfriend. Looking back, it must have been awful for my parents and if my daughter did it I would be mortified. But, I am not my parents and I intend to bring my children up differently to how I was raised. In this way I hope to avoid the kind of problems I had.

Now, 20-odd years later, I love them to bits and would choose them over anyone else's Mum and Dad - mine are the best!!

Do I like my parents? If I had to choose them again, most likely I would choose my mom, but only if I could be the first or last child this time. I would have definitely choosen someone else to be my Dad. He was a hard worker, but also a hard drinker, smoker, and tended to be violent..

so no I wouldn't want choose him again and I wish that Mom hadn't either, but then I guess I wouldn't be me, here and now and answering this question and wouldn't be with my hubby or have my 2 kids.

No I don't like them, as I have a challenging relationship with both.. but I guess I'd have to choose them again for me to be born.

Sometimes my mum drives me to distraction, sometimes her idiosyncrasies grate. Sometimes her ideas and opinions are opposed to mine. Sometimes she just really gets on my nerves. But, I would not swap her for another. It's just that when you grow up and you have your own mind, as in any relationship, you can see other peoples faults. I would choose her again because she has brought me up to be accepting of other peoples faults and differences and to be aware that although we may love somebody, we are all individuals and it's ok to disagree or not to like just everything about someone as long as you understand that they may feel the same about you.

I love my parents for bringing me into this world, but to like them is a whole different conversation. I think that parents should be there to protect their children and not scar them and that is what my parents have done to me, however I feel that they also have taught me alot. So like them no, but love and respect them for the most part. I don't think you have a choice, but yes because without them I wouldn't be the strong and independant person I am today, without them I would have been a sappy and most likely nieve person to the world around me. I hope that answers your question.

Yes, I like my parents and would choose them again. My mom passed away when I was 17, a time when most moms and daughters fight. To this day, when a friend and their mom fight I remind them that they are lucky to even have someone to fight with.

I totally love my parents. They're full of wisdom, and are incredibly supportive and great at giving advice. I'd definitely chose them again if I had the chance

looks like there is more to the question than how we see it on the surface.

i would not say yeah i like my parents that much. in any case, if i had a better option i would prefer.

But the reality of this is the fact that, you can never change your parents come what may. they are our God given gifts and we need to appreciate them as they are. Afterall you'll not be with them forever

Babes enjoy them while they last.cheeeers!

Yes, I love my parants, but as a teenager i did not get along with my mother. I love her now and she is very sick and it makes me wish i had a better relationship with her when i was younger. So love your parents while you can because they wont be around forever. Good Luck. By the way do you love yours?

Nope my dad was a violent drunk and my mother let him beat her and us without getting us out of the situation .They are still married and the last time he was invited to my house was to see in the millennium and he got drunk and started on my son so he was booted out by me and my mother held his hand as he went so now although they live 5 minutes away i have very little contact.

My dad I could never live without, he is the closest thing to me in the world. My mum not so much but I know she would make me feel really bad if I swapped her so I better keep her I suppose (love you really mum in case you have freakishly started reading this). My boyfriends mum is cool can I keep her?
