Only if I believe in him. Which I don't. I think that people don't have to have an entity that tells or tempts them to do evil things. The capacity for horrible evil lies in us all, just like the capacity for incredible good.
Tell me that you haven't imagined throttling a child molester, or wanted to kick the crap out of someone who's beating up his wife. That's the capacity for violence, which some would call evil, but it's not an evil thought behind it. I don't think that those type of thoughts make you evil, either.
Evil is when a person does things with no thought for the consequences for other people.
(This probably doesn't answer your question very well, but it set off a train of thought that I had to put down somewhere. Sorry.)

Don't need to.
He's an object lesson of what happens when you overreach yourself.
Basically he said to God while viewing His plan for Creation, "Shove over stoopid and lemme show ya how it OUGHTA be done!"
Not the brightest wick in the lamp, despite his original (Lucifer - bringer of light) name.

People were looking for a scapegoat. No one likes to take the blame for their improper/bad actions, so they made up a catchall diety to blame things on.

God created the angels and gave them free will as He gave us. Satan wanted to be more powerful than God--he cannot be, but he sure does try!

Why would any Christian want to. Do you justify your enemy's reason for hating you?
