Because it would be pretty shallow for us to say "Oh I want a brad pitt look a like." So it would be best for us to say "personality" because no one likes to be viewed in a bad lighting. Honestly, I think this is rubbish. Us women know doggone well that attraction is key, but none of us wants to admit it. I don't want to put looks first, but I do have to at least have some kind of attraction towards a guy before even considering dating him. So I kinda agree with you but only to a certain point. Most of the time, it is rubbish.

Can't prove you wrong on this one....looks are the thing that catches your eye first. Have you ever met a girl and said, "oh wow, her personality is just so tight!" I think not....you were most likely talking about her a**. You can't even say that personality comes second...you have to actually get to know someone before you know what their personality is like. So its more like looks, maybe a few same interests, good in the sack, money THEN personality.

I think men and women are the same. We both go for the same thing, we want someone who is good looking, so what we first notice about a person is their looks. But then to make a relationship last you have to like their personality, so essentially for a relationship to work, a girl has to like a man's personality. Otherwise it's just lust.

some tv talk show that goes on the street and does surveys (i forget which one) asked women what they want most in their men and the most popular answer of all was "a good kisser" above even personality. Personality was like #2 or so. Women want good personality above looks and sexual things. Sex in secondary according to the responses of most women who are asked.

Good looks and a sexy body are joint top. Then comes personality - cuz i always bring out the best side of people anyway...then intelligence....same interests as me - football, partying etc and then the icing on the cake will be the nice car he has ideally a bently gt.

To be perfectly honest, it is actually a bit of both. If I find a guy nice looking then I will speak to them and find out a little more. If they are an asshole, then I am so not interested. Women don't want men who are twats and are more interested in being a "bloke" with their mates. And a sense of humour is the most important thing, you have to be able to laugh at yourself.

Hell no I've date a couple guys who were below the standard in the looks department because of their personality at the time. You have to remember looks come and go, but if your personalities don't mesh at all then you are screwed!

yup - of course a personality is a must as well - but looks are the initial thing (for me anyway - maybe im shallow!) that gets my interest - if the spark aint there you dont really make the effort to get to know the person.

no way! i love my current boyfriend to bits, but hes not the best looking guy ever! plus, a couple of my ex's had great personalities at the time but they werent exactly brad pitt lookalikes! personality is definatly the most important thing...although i do agree that looks can attract you to find out their personality.
