Well I do have faith just not in god, I understand that the things I can not control I must deal with like anyone else. It's not that I have no knowledge of religion, because to me that is god (Religion) that is.
So I have faith that life will work out, I must put effort in all the things I need to survive a good relaxed life, I must help and teach my children and grandchildren that life is great but life in our society can it be tricky.
Who or what do I turn to in times of need, my family, myself, my friends.
Comfort, Hoping, Happiness, acceptance of your self and children is the key to life. We comforted my mother in her time of need, she was a devoted Catholic and yes she keep saying my children are with god, but the truth was it was just psychological need for her to know that here children were safe. The fact is my siblings and grandson are dead, there will be no second chance to enjoy them, just found memory's. Life and love ones are meat to appreciated today and of course not all of your family is worthy of being appreciated.
I accept responsibility for my actions and the realm of life I live in, I and my wife created 3 children, so its my responsibility to help them with life and social problems, it's a shame to watch people abandon their children after they reach 18 - 21.
A lot of problem with society is why people believe god is needed, people on drugs, alcohol, pimps, prostitutes (male & female) money, presteage are just some of the reasons and these people need something to hold on to at the time when they want to stop doing the things that are harming them and yes in cases like this A God is needed because they feel traped and they don't want soseity to view them as bad people.
Acceptance of what you have and strive to make it better for your grandchildren. Materilizem ca

well when I need food I turn to a chef or a grocer when I have a toothache I turn to a dentist when I need shelter I put my faith
in builders and building codes when I need to decide I have faith in the good judgment that took several lifetimes to develop
if by some fluke a god should judge me on judgment day I think he will have enough sense to realize... but till then I'll take poetic license and use the name metaphorically ...God helps those who help themselves except ignorant bible thumping fools that don't have sense to grow up and quit insulting the god they invented and the people who see through it follow the train of though if there was a god it wouldn't be as stupid as the one men have created!

Myself, family, friends.

I think that the whole concept of turning to god and praying to him is like a safety blanket. Instead of having someone try to make things better for me, I make things better for myself, and unlike god that never speaks or anything, my family and friends can give really good advice. I read about psychology and other topics to be able to understand myself and the world around me better.

Myself.

But I think I also have a much more positive view of the world in general. For example, I do not believe that "all politicians are crooks", and I can name some who are in fact honest, hard-working, and trying to represent the American people (Russ Feingold for the obvious example).

Myself and anyone else who I feel may be willing and able to assist me in relation to that specific need. For example, if the 'time of need' involved me getting sick I would turn to a doctor.

Myself, my family, my friends. All are much more helpful and comforting than any god could be

Basically, I have to rely on myself to fix my own problems. I try not to rely on friends and family if I don't have to, but I know that they are there if I need them.

Yourself of course. The 'god within' is capable of achieving wonders.

my friends and family.... i usually find when talking to them i get balanced reasonable responses... they also come in useful for going to the pub and talking things through...

the alternative doesn't get their round in at the pub and seems to be a one way conversation...
