No, soul is in your mind only. Once dead, no more mind, no more soul.

Man is a three fold being, like God. He has a Body, a Soul and a Spirit. The Soul could be called the self, and when it is called that, then the spirit may be called the soul. The Spirit of Man is given from God when God gave him His breath and Adam became a living being. When man disobeyed God, the Spirit of man separated from the Spirit of God and thus man died spiritually. The soul or the self of man may be found in his blood. When man dies, his Spirit separates from his soul and body and thus he dies in the body. The Spirit of man remains for ever because it came from God. The spirit of man that had hoped in believing Christ and His salvation goes to paradise. The Body of man will be redeemed and man will have a spiritual body at Christ's second coming. So to sum up the whole situation, the Spirit that is saved will wake up embodied with a new uncorrupted, spiritual and glorified body and thus man's spirit and body is redeemed by the work of Christ on the Cross and by his resurrection. This is what the Bible teaches.

A soulThe soul, according to many religious and philosophical traditions, is a self-aware ethereal substance particular to a unique living being. In these traditions the soul is thought to incorporate the inner essence of each living being, and to be the true basis for sentience. In distinction to spirit which may or may not be eternal, souls are usually (but not always as explained below) considered to be immortal and to pre-exist their incarnation in flesh.

The concept of the soul has strong links with notions of an afterlife, but opinions may vary wildly, even within a given religion, as to what may happen to the soul after the death of the body. Many within these religions and philosophies see the soul as immaterial, while others consider it to possibly have a material component, and some have even tried to establish the mass (weight) of the soul.

Actually most of us are suffering from “Identity Crisis”. We identify ourselves with our body while we are actually eternal spirit soul. Soul is actually the passenger in the chariot of this body. The same soul transmigrates thru various bodies based on our actions in human body. The soul never dies only the body is destroyed.

No, there's no such thing as a "soul".

The best way to think about the "soul" is as sort of a "fudge factor". It's a notion used by people who want to believe in things like "life after death" to fill in the gaps in their arguments. Since consciousness is the product of neural firings, it's clear that consciousness ends when neural firings stop right around death. That means if you're going to believe in "life after death" you need to invent something like a "soul" to justify your belief.

We also use "soul" to justify things like the religious control of sexuality, by claiming that there's "soul" in a fertilized egg, which enables people to believe that we have moral responsibilities towards such an egg (or stem cells etc.) and even to claim that a fertilized egg is "just like a human being".

In short, there is not really any such thing as a "soul", but there is a notion of "soul" whose purpose is mainly to save bad arguments. A good rule of thumb is that any argument that depends on a "soul" isn't worth considering.

Perhaps or maybe the soul is not even part of the body, only a separate appendage that is attached. I know that human beings have something other than just bones, blood, brains and other organs. There are certain things that can't be explained with the knowledge we have now. But perhaps I'm just delusional and those unexplainable things are just waiting for scientists to discover and understand them. Maybe those unexplainable phenomena are really simple problems of which the answers are sitting in plain sight waiting to be understood. We may never know... Or maybe we will.

Soul is a part of the body. i feel that body is just a means for the existence of our soul on earth.
Being a contemporary science student i was reluctanct to believe in the existance of soul, but when i think about -what happens to our body once we are dead? what is it that goes off, making our body so useless tht it has to burried, cremated or else it would decay?
May be its our SOUL.

Well, I think, the body has a soul and when it dies, the soul
will leave the body and be waiting out there or somewhere.
Thus, if a person commits a sinful act such as murder and then dies without spiritual pardon, the soul will be called upon by the Angels and punishment will be meted out accordingly.

Our souls are define as : emotions, the mind and our will, which is our soul. We are spiritual beings living in a fleshly body(human beings).

When we are in-touch with God, we are to live in the spirit and not allow our emotions, mind and our will control us. But to always remain in the spirit, even if we fall off, we pick up our selves and continue in the spirit.
