Sometimes yes. But I would rather have them at church dressed inappropriuately than not at church at all!

I personally wouldn't wear anything revealing to a church. But I can often gauge whether I would get with a church of not if I just wear jeans right away and see the reaction I get.
Personally, I think if you're there for a reason, you have better things to worry about.

To revealing is not good because that is a person that came to church to grab attention instead of worshiping God.
But I would insist on people dressing comfortable but respectful. Shorts, T-shirts and foot wear like sandals are fine too but as I said, nothing revealing or too tight on both men and women.

If all you are seeingis the clothes people are wearing and passing judgement on them , I am afraid you are there for the wrong reason. Jesus said come as you are. Not come dressed in floor length robes and spit shined dress shoes. I suppose there should be a modicum of decency to what people wear when they stand in presense of GOD but I think he would rather have someone just be there worshipping HIM than not have them there at all because someone thinks they are dressed inappropriately.

yes, but some people don't know how to dress for church or they don't have a Sunday best so they just wear what they have. We are to give God our best. Remember God looks at our heart but man looks on the outward appearance. Its the inside that matters not the dress code.

yes i think that there are some who dress inappropriately. meaning skirts too short, tank tops, t-shirts... but maybe it's all they have. so you can't really judge. at least they're there. and yeah there are others who dress too boring, but God tells us to be modest in our choice of clothing... maybe that's their idea of modesty. people at my church think you should ALWAYS wear (in church or out in the world) long sleeved shirts, women must always wear long skirts, and a woman's hair must be grown long (never cut) and put up in a bun. "do you go to a pentecostal church?" you might ask? no, it's a methodist church! but i don't subscribe to all of that. yes my hair is long, but it's styled and yes it gets cut every 2 months... i don't wear long sleeves and skirts down to the floor, but i do at least try to wear my skirts past my knees. and when i'm not in church, i'll wear pants or even shorts. they don't believe one should wear any jewelry of any kind or any makeup of any kind and i wear both. "why do you go there?" you might ask. because the people there are genuine and kind and loving. you can SEE God all over them and FEEL God when you're in their presence. well, most of them anyway. and i'd rather be surrounded by genuine Christians who try to live their lives the way Christ wants them to, than surrounded by the ones who go out to the bars on Saturday nite and come in to church (still hungover) the next morning and profess to love God.

Sure, people dress inappropriately all the time--everywhere. But they are worshipping God, that is great. Maybe someday they will choose to honor God and themselves in their dress too.

My wife would answer yes because you need to show respect. I answer no, at least you are there. This assumes that you are there for the right reason and not deliberately dressing this way just to upset people.

I never understood why Americans call themselves Christians. but there was always the fact that most American churches have a lot of people attending, a fact that I never understood. but a friend of mine that lived in the US for 2 years told me that those people don't go to Church to praise Jesus, they go to church to praise themselves... that's when I really understood the American mentality
