I don't like the whole "seperation of church and state" thing, because it makes mention of any religion baaad... and does things like restrict freedom of speech by dis-allowing prayer (voluntary) in schools, and other public places. Don't let any religion *run* the country... but don't gag us, either.

Religion must run our lives. It should especially not run the live s of religious people. A person, a group of people, or an institution should not impose the same views on others who think differently. As long as the action that is being performed by someone is not affecting others by causing irreparable emotional damage or inflicting physical harm on somebody else, then I see no reason why religion has to be involved. Everyone's rights has to be respected, and we have to have to freedom to make choices and accept the consequences that may follow afterwards. Also, leave people alone when they want to be left alone, and don't touch anything that isn't yours. In other words, treat people the way that you would want to be treated.

Our lives would become disastrous if religions and politics were mixed. Separation of church and state is a wise thing; but this should be done by peaceful measures.
The using of force and violent measures were unavoidable in the past when men were immature and wars in those days did not threaten the destruction of the whole world.
Now we have greater knowledge and greater facilities to exchange views concerning the betterment of this world and the safety of future generations. Perhaps, prominent people, religious and political leaders should create wider and dignified fora for this purpose. Final and wise agreements can be announced through advanced mass media to almost all mankind to get their consensus and support.
O leaders of the world, please take urgent actions before it is too late.
My proposal on this narrow forum may fall into oblivion, so I also call all the people of good will to continuously raise your voices in other prominent fora, especially in the UN and its Agencies.

I'd have to say Heathenry/Asatru. (www.asatru.org) it's a religion that encourages equallity among all people, regardless of gender or race, It believes in a strong sense of Justice, self disicipline, Honor, courage, Strong Family values, and rather than worrying about being judged someday before a big god who points out all of your 'sins', it is far more concerned with merely taking care of your business, doing what you say you will do, weither thats upholding your marital vows, caring for your family, completeing tasks at your job or giving someone a ride to work.
if the country was run by Asatuars i think it would be in a much better state.

It would not matter. A government by religion would be a theocracy. All theocracies are dictatorships in the name of some deity. A christian theocracy would be just as bad as an Islamic theocracy.

Religion is the way one conducts oneself. The nation has conduct, the national adminstration has conduct, their corporations have conduct, their association have conduct, their rich, poor and all in between have conduct and & the citzens have conduct. Their conduct is their religion.
Just because it is undeclared or declared does not mean that it is what they say it is. Lables mean nothing but diversion. The conduct defines us.
