It's because media presented to us with the kind of thinking that white is something of superior quality, something to be desired for.
Have you ever seen advertisements that speak of people wanting to be dark skinned as black people? No. because it is perceived that being black isn't beautiful at all, something that is of inferior creation.
But when you go to the beaches, you see white skinned humans trying get their skin tanned. Why? Perhaps it could be for aesthetic purposes only, or it is because white coloured skin is more prone to acquiring skin cancer than those of black skin.
When you listen to music, who dominates the powerful vocals of the tunes? It's black people. Have you ever thought of a white skinned person that can match the soothing voice of Nat King Cole? The diversity of the music they create is far more varied and interspersed with cultural backgrounds, making them ultimately colourful.
Black is not only beauty, it is actually a power. However that power was superceded by the mindset that white is better.
As it is, there really is no point being a racist favoring either caucasians or black people or asians. We all have to learn, and need to learn how to co-exist with each other and not dominate over the other.
We should learn how to compliment each other, by supplying the deficiency of one where there is excess of efficiency with the other.
It is not an issue of what's beautiful or pleasing to the eye, it is just a concept created by those who think they can gain power and control by supporting such kind of thinking.
Realistically speaking, racism can no longer be eliminated, because that translates to a paradigm shift on a large scale. So there will still be people who will view black not as something that's beautiful, but ugly. Something that is to be feared rather than be understood.
At any rate, how other people view you being black should not bother you. That is the way you are supposed to exist in this planet, and you are supposed to utilize whatever talent or power God has given you so that you will have a meaningful existence.
The way you react to other people's aggression towards black people is entirely up to you. Whether you prove them that black is really not a beauty to be considered, or black is on the negative side of the fence.

Because some people think thta white is beautiful and being fair makes them feel they are very pure and always liked and admired by all.this kind of a behaviour is truly because of attitude in some people.it is the truth that black is beauty.

black is beauty no doubt,there is lot of advantages being dark skinned.the marks will not be visible.the skin will not look dull at any point of time,the dress colours that will suit us are more than the fair people.

It depends on how we look at things. Coal is black and diamond comes from it. Black is associated with darkens and dirt and sorrow. This association with color is a curse to human race when it is attributed to skin color.

In practical life - skin colour does not make things perfect. It is only thinking of people. - so do not compare the colours. It has no much meaning. I think the people's mentality has to change. ONLY THING IS THAT MEDIA-BUSINESS MIND PEOPLE MAKE THINGS WORSE. don't run behind it.
