Because most religions today - like Christianity don't teach to respect others for their beliefs - they are taught that they are supreme to others - which is not true - we all don't know for sure whether it is we who are correct or whether it is something else that is correct. So every one better learn to respect other for their beliefs - after all it is a belief.

I think it's because we sometimes try to intermingle our choice of faith with our politics. I know of NO government on this planet that has the whole world's best interest at heart.
Only God does.
See, I'm starting to think that American flags shouldn't be in churches. But if I said that out loud in my own church, people would think I was against America.
I think we must all decide which means more, our faith or our nation. I love my country, America, but I love and trust God more.
If everyone in the world would put their peace loving faith first, and really trust God, and not let our governments tell us how to feel, we could all survive together and respect each other very nicely.

One of the concepts you must realize is that man is not perfect, not me, not you, not anyone.
We all make mistakes and many persons carry their self imposed ideas of perfection too far. But you can't blame it on "religion"; religion is not the problem, people are the problem, selfishness is the problem, greed is the problem, envy is the problem, avarice is the problem.
The bottom line is that we are carried away by our selfish desires and it manifests itself in a variety of manners, including violence in the name of "peace".
But don't blame God, man is the problem.
The human race has turned from God and focused on self and that carries a heavy burden.
Rom 1:28 And because they did not think it worthwhile to have God in their knowledge, God delivered them over to a worthless mind to do what is morally wrong.
Rom 1:29 They are filled with all unrighteousness, evil, greed, and wickedness. They are full of envy, murder, disputes, deceit, and malice. They are gossips,
Rom 1:30 slanderers, God-haters, arrogant, proud, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents,
Rom 1:31 undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving, and unmerciful.
Rom 1:32 Although they know full well God's just sentence--that those who practice such things deserve to die--they not only do them, but even applaud others who practice them.
Sometimes, God gives us what we want.
Not every religion can be "right". Contrary to misguided selfish thought, truth is NOT relative. What is, is. 2 + 2 = 4, up is not down and right is not wrong.
Consider this, when a large chunk of mankind is striving against itself, wouldn't chaos be the natural result?
God brings order to man's chaos when man seeks God.

human beings will in no way stay mutually in peace on a similar time as there is "faith" . Paganism is the non violent tolerant direction the place human beings admire all existence as God given and look after the Earth and animals. If we are able to all study to look after our worldwide and one yet another - then we would stay to tell the story as a species. regrettably hundreds of thousands prefer to combat approximately who's stable and who's faulty and are prepared to kill or die to tutor their element. The Human Race isn't clever sufficient to stay in peace.

All of the Religions in reality do live in harmony together.
Humans, now that is different story. Remember the metaphors of Cain & Able, Essua & Jacob, Joseph & his brothers, Ham & his brothers.

I think we could all live in harmony if people would just worry about themselves. I think a sensible person should be able to look a situation and say, "I don't agree with your religion, but it is your right to believe what you want to believe." And leave it at that, but for whatever reason people can't do that.

Religions themselves don't preach harmony, so how can religion-abiding people follow any different. People should be humans before they become self-involved in what a religious doctrine says. Humanity should be the first real 'religion'

Religions were made up by man and we are bloodthirsty killers. At least Royalty keen on spilling commoner blood and bill Clinton and George bush are both distantly related through royal English blood. people who give bible quotes as back up to what their answers are might as well go looking through their rectum when asked to show their papers to the police when pulled over. and they are probably Protestant bastards and bicthes that don't even know where they came from. and i can't spell worth a shite

If person start thinking all human being as a children of god then this problem will no longer arise. The human's nature of showing superiority and selfishness is the result of disharmony among religious group. All r made of flesh n blood, we should remember this n then we won't think differences among ourselves.

to the user that stated religions don't preach peace but they do preach persecution of others, it's not for the entire group. there are many stories in the books of these religions and the situations are meant for those time periods, not to every single person not of your own religion. in most of the religions listed violence or death done to another being is AGAINST the religions, no matter who it's being done to.
