You have to ask why you're doing that thing and do you really want to do it? Be sure it is truly yourself that you are doing it for. Having faith in yourself doesn't mean you can or cannot do something, you may want to do something but be stopped by forces beyond your control. You can only know you truly tried your hardest and be gracious in victory or defeat. Both outcomes are the same in a mental sense if you accept them well. Try not to let others' perceptions or opinions affect your judgement of yourself, that is probably the biggest hurdle.

First of all you have to believe in what you are doing.. It is not useful to tell yoursel "I can do it" if you really don't believe in you.. and in what you are doing.. If you want to climb up EVEREST and you don't know how to climb up how can you tell to your self " I can do it" ????
But if you fix a target and work day by day on it.. (you climb up every day an half hour first week, 1 hours second week.. 2 hours third week and so on) you will get it.. due to you know your limits you tested what you are able to do and what you are not able to do..
Beginn with little things.. tested yourself in little things for example if you are shy, and become red in face as one person is looking at you and turn away your eyes.. try to stay there and look this person in his eyes too.. the next time you will try to talk with someone.. little step, and step by step .. you will get it.. Also when you do something that you never made before try to be full of proud for yourself and buy something that you really like as a prize for your effort.. GO HEAD you will win..

Faith is an unwavering belief in what you perceive to be the truth. Every time you say to yourself: "can", you are re-inforcing that belief in yourself. It becomes more your truth. The same goes for "can't". We have no limitations, only those with which we choose to bind ourselves. I mean this in a spiritual context. We can, in fact, achieve the equivalent of the summit of Everest in a single stride, should we choose to do so. My advice... Don't get bogged down in "can" or "can't", just "do" and see where it takes you. Then you will be able to say "did", and the next time will be easier.

Really hard question. I think you have to fake it a few times until you have pushed yourself to actually succeed and then you will have the experience of already succeeding to help you believe in yourself. Hope it helps. It is not an easy thing to do, have faith in one's self. I struggle with this as well.

Have faith in yourself because God (or your higher power) does. We are here to live and experience things. If you try and don't succeed then next time try it a different way. But if you start out saying you "can't" -- then you "won't."
