the elimination of bad is the process of nature... thus spake Charles Darwin when he said.."..survival of the fittest"

Man's harm to nature is creating lots of imbalances and thus the effect of natural calamities such as Hurricanes, Tsunamis etc.

The disasters caused by nature can be much more harmful than those caused by man. But I believe that the disasters caused by nature is to punish the sins done by man. More the sins and bad works , more the disasters by nature.

well this question has been recently arising in many minds perhaps due to the Tsunami and the Earthquackes and what not. The fact remains that nature has tremendous power . It strikes suddenly and with a tremendous force and is capable of causing a lot of destruction. After all the dinosaurs literally dissappeared from this earth. But it is also true that nature strikes only a few times and its fury has never resulted in the destruction of all life forms. But unfortunately, the same can't be said for humans. We are systematically destroying the environment that sustaina life on Earth. We may say that some life forms might evolve and adapt themselves to the new environment. But we can never justify our destruction by simply stating that that someone else is causing more destruction.

World War 2 killed 50 million people in about 6 years. I don't know of a natural disaster of that magnitude.

And man's ability to cause disasters is seriously larger now. It's up to us to see that it doesn't happen.

nature's disasters are much more harmful than man's.
But I think the activities of man are adversely effscting the nature which do turn out to be disastrous!
examples U can take;

1. pollution
2. megastructures
3. mining

U must be wondering how can megastuctures be harmful, actually humans don't care about the earth while going on with their scientific world. THhey build huge dams, powerstations, buildings but they never think that if nature's disastes harm any of these, these can harm us in a much harmful ways than nature.
Thus man should control his activities to prevent the combination of natural and man-made disasters

Undoubtedly. It has taken us hundred of years to cause the kind of destruction that can be caused in only a few moments by a volcano, an earthquake, a cyclone, a tsunami or some other natural event. We just can't compete with nature when it comes to destruction.
