God knows everything—including the future. Theologians call this God's "omniscience"—which simply means that He is all-knowing.

We have a hard time understanding this, of course. After all, our knowledge is very limited; even the most brilliant person on earth knows only a tiny bit about the whole universe. But God is far, far greater than we are. From the smallest subatomic particle to the most distant galaxy in the universe, God's knowledge embraces it all. The psalmist exclaimed, "Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too lofty for me to attain" (Psalm 139:6).

More than that, God also knows all about us—even our innermost thoughts. We may not know what someone else is thinking—but God does, because His knowledge has no limits. The Bible says, "Nothing in all creation is hidden from God's sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account" (Hebrews 4:13).

Yes, God is great—so great that we can only begin to glimpse His greatness. But listen: The greatest thing about God is that He loves us! He loves us so much that He stooped down and walked among us in the person of His Son, Jesus Christ. Do you want to know what God is like? Look at Christ, for He was God in human flesh. More than that, He wants you to know Him personally—and you will, if you invite Him into your life today.
