You may have a common condition in the esophagus in which it looks like an hour glass - where it becomes very narrow - and it can be fixed without surgery. To repair it they stick a "Balloon" into your throat and then inflate it and stretch the throat back into a normal diameter. This can be a permanent fix, sometimes it is not though. You need to see a G.I. doctor about this. You did not mention if you were having acid reflux, because that is a sign of another condition.

Are you bulimic or anorexic? Is your throat worn out from vomiting?
See a doctor. This is not a good place for real advice.

I asked that very question last week. My doctor told me it was a cramp in my neck. Do see a doctor tho, it could be something serious.
