Right now you are going through the proceedings of WW III.
It is the beginning of the end for those who think there is no one stronger than them.

No, in order for there to be a world war, the other nations must stand some chance of winning. If there was a war, then the sides would likely be Western Nations and maybe Russia, or a few other countries against N.Korea, Iran, etc. Those nations have no chance of winning a war with the US led Squad. So before this war would ever start the other nations would seek an agreement.

No. The first 2 were fought by industrialized nation states, any large scale future conflicts will not share this characteristic. There may well be high intensity regional conflicts, butI can not see it devolping into a world war.

Possibly, however the Middle East will perish and that will ultimately be good for the world. Once Iran pops off, it will be a global effort- most likely Russia since they have deep financial ties, but more than any other country, Russia does not want them to develop nuclear weapons. Iran is playing with fire.

No, not in the usual sense. But these 'grass fire wars' are going to continue and multiply until we take the brazen step of dealing with their root causes in a logical, humanitarian and diplomatic way instead of the old belief that military intervention eliminates problems.

If Iraq get their Nuclear Act together we will be in a full fledge WW3..... but some people think the war on terrorism is the big one, but most of them are young and can't relate to a real WW.

Do you think we are not already in one? Take a look around. Name one Westernized nation that hasn't come under attack from Islamic Extremists in recent years. I can easily name 20 that have. Still think that 9/11 was about oil, or us meddling in middle eastern affairs? No - it is about Extremists belief that they must spread the message of Islam, even on the tip of a spear if necessary.

U.S., England, Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan, North Korea, so on and so on. All fighting I'd say that's close enough to a world war.
