Pesticides are the chemicals that are used to kill the pests(rodents, snakes etc) that infest and damage the crop. The farmers use them on their crops, we in our gardens to prevent the plants that we grow with so much care to get damaged. These pesticides proetect the farmers against the loss of harvest.
But through the water(they are usually sprayed after being dilutedin water) and the plants, they have entered our food chain. Anfd being chemicals, they are seriously affecting our lives and health.
