We have a 6month old Amstaff breed who just recently went into heat, and has stopped eating, and playing? Is this normal or should we be concerned, She just recently stopped the other day..

you know all dogs have their own way of acting when they are in heat. but i will tell you this i breed golden retrievers and when my female goes in heat she sometimes does the same thing and the when she is ready to mate she goes back to her normal self. but if she does keep this up after she starts to come out of her heat then i would say call your vet to find out what you can do at home instead of taking her in. but if it gets to bad then take her in. but just watch her and see how she is in a couple of days but you will know what you will need to do with her after that.good luck

That's what happens when they're in heat. Their attention is focused more on looking for a mate than eating. Give her canned food that she really likes.

Take her to a vet. Also, talk to the vet about the benefits of spaying her.

cats and dogs just aint the same when they get that way. why do you worry when you know what the problem is?
