Is it right to kill all the dogs including pets in a city to prevent rabies?

Its terrible, but Chinese on the whole are pretty cruel with pets, at least in China. I heard that one whole city was going to kill, or already did kill all the dogs....

We complain about it, but go to the mall and still buy stuff made in China and are happy its so cheap. If we had any real care, we would refuse all this cheap stuff...but now its almost too late after all our mills and factories here have already shut down and been moved over there.

I read an article about that and I think it is so cruel. Why not pass a law to make it mandatory for the dogs to have a rabies shot?? Why kill the poor animal because the potential is there.....prevention through vaccination is the better alternative.

There is an article about China killing dogs on petition.com

It depends on how widespread the rabies is. With the population so dense, stray dogs pose a real threat, especially the rabies-infected variety. We don't think of it much because we've all but irradicated it here. I think it should be done humanely, and they should try their best not to kill anyone's pets. It's just something we aren't used to seeing, so it may seem very shocking, but when you have to choose between convention and public safety...

It wasn't just stray dogs ,it was dogs in peoples homes, dogs being walked by their owners. They just grabbed these dogs and brutally killed them.We have a lot of people in our country ,but we have mandatory rabies vaccines to follow with our pets.China doesn't follow through like this. The pets suffer.

its not right but their ways of protecting people from rabies might be the only way, now i am a dog lover but they dont have the control factors in that country to control dog populations
