Why would he have created us in the first place -"he" is all knowing, so he knows where we are going to end up even before we are born. So why not skip the rigamarole, and create people who he would like to populate his heaven instead of going through all this test of faith BS... He doesn't sound like such a omnipotent person after all.
Another example, If he was so all knowing, then why is there such a stark difference between the Old Testament and the New? Are bible thumpers trying to say that "He" was a fiery and vengeful god in the OT, but now he is a peaceful and loving god in the NT? What, did he learn the error of his ways? Again, he doesn't sound very all knowing or omnipotent.

Sounds like a random act of kindness by God, doesn't it? Then the printing press was invented and everything Biblical went down hill from there, as far as religion goes. Some one edited the Bible...imagine the Monks that copied the "so called" written word by hand. Who knows what was actually left out, or misconstrued. My advice is never to follow anything "blindly". You have the choice to think.

God gave us brain to use it. He had given us free will to test us if we will follow him. He had given us wisdom to know what is right and wrong. He had given us wisdom to know his words (the bible). If you would just try to read the bible you won't have blind Faith, and before reading the bible i suggest that you should pray so that God would give you wisdom and you could be able to understand his words. Many persons in the bible are wise and smart. Some uses it in the wrong way and some uses it in the right way. For example King Solomon, in his dreams God appeared to him. He asked which would he choose wealth or wisdom. King Solomon chose wisdom. God gave him wisdom and he ruled Israel mightily, but since God have given us free will he used some of his wisdom in the wrong way he had a plenty of wives and built monuments for his wives's GODS, but our God doesn't like what he did therefore, people could be like him. God didn't say, don't use your brain, but don't rely on the powers of this world for he was the one who created it. Evil and holiness are on this world. He had created the world to test and to give us chance.

How could you say that you would have blind faith if you would trust the bible any way??Maybe you just had the wrong concept about God. No offense but if you would have the wrong faith then you're on the wrong path. Many are not saved because of lack of knowledge. That was said on the bible. Why don't you try to at least read the bible so that you your self will be cleared by your questions.. that's all!!GOD BLESS ya!! and if you will read the bible read proverbs.

By reasoning, if I followed some biblical principles and knew I was benefiting society at the same time, I shall be satisfied with my life when it ends, knowing I have made an impact and was loved by others. If I choose to do what I like, live only for the moment, and not think of others, I know I shall have no real merit in life. Therefore if God exists and I beliefe that, I have lost nothing. But if God did exist and I had not believed it, I will be in trouble when I die. Therefore logically, I choose to believe.

Chris>> Would you like a child, to be programmed to say 'i love you' the whole time? Would he then be loving you REALLY if he had no free will? That is why God gave us a choice to choose our life. The same thing happened with the angels. They had a choice for their own actions. Lucifer sinned and was thrown out of heaven. Later God wanted to make beings as his children. He created man, set man on earth, giving him the ability to choose as well. Man chose, this world of thorns is the result of his choice.

that is a farce and highly argumentative in nature. if we never were allowed to use our brain, how can you learn to trust the bible without identifying how one should follow it? or how would you know that that it's faith? god gave us brains, but we really are not fully utilizing it's functions. only about 20% of it for thinking. the remaining ones are for sensing/feeling, reasoning, identifying and speaking. unless of course, some uses it for other reasons....

you cannot rationalize your ignorance of the bible by bashing those who actually apply it to their lives. what makes you much better than us? God gave us a brain so that we could chose to obey Him or not. by the way, dont bash something until you try it.

As there is no 'God' he could not have given us an 'intelligent' brain.
The bible was written by MEN and is a load of fables and hogwash.

He Gave us a brain so we can use it to deny our passions (aka instincts) and thusly TRY to stay free of sin.
