Sounds like you've got a fairly old computer. You need to find out what type of RAM it uses. If it came with a leaflet describing the motherboard, this will tell you.
Adding more RAM normally only involves buying the modules and plugging them in. You need antistatic protection.
On the other hand, with Tescos selling PCs with a flat screen monitor and ink jet printer for £299, why bother!

See what your motherboard will handle and buy more RAM. Usually mo-bos can handle up to 1 GIG RAM. Buy at least 1 stick of 512 and stick it in. Really easy to do.
Be sure to buy the right kind. See what kind you already have (ram speed). Info should be in the motherboard book. Circuit City is where I get mine. Wait for a sale and rebate offer.

upgrade your RAM ( Random Access Memory ) to a minimum of 512 ( most computers need this amount of memory today). You can do this by buying extra RAM at any computer shop. You will need to find out what type of RAM you have in the PC first.Trying going to www.crucial.com.They have an online programme which will tell you what kind of RAM is in your machine.Good luck

well you could purchase RAM upto 4 GB if you are using the latest PCs with the Windows XP. However normally they provide upto 512 MB of RAM these days with new computers. Go ahead and increase it upto 512MB and enjoy considerable improvement performance of your PC
