We should tolerate all beliefs, be they religious, political or personal. As long as someones actions don't have a negative effect on other peoples lives they should be free to practise them.

I personally don't like belly button piercing - but I'm not going to call for all women with these piercings to be banished from society. I don't believe in any God, but I'm not going to stop other people from worshipping their deity.

Once a person or group starts interrupting my life, or the free society in which I live - then I'll have something to say, but until then we should stop pigeonholing people because their beliefs.

Everybody should "tolerate" everbody else, but this is never going to happen in our society as there are too many factions and groups. And anyway if you mean Islam as a whole then you should realise that this religion promotes peace and understanding, the problem is with the extremists who feel that any beliefs that are not theirs are wrong! And Nazis are not discrimated against anyway, again only the extremists who created the World War, and they haven't been around for a while. I will also point out that the last big war was a pile of political bullshit entered into by 2 Christian nations.

Islam is not a facist radical political party with extreme views. The muslim religion is just very prominent, and is taken to extremes by radicals. Just as Christians go over board and join the KKK or groups that send missionaries to other country forcing them to convert. My Point is that you are propetuating the stereotype that all muslims are terrorists. They aren't, as with all religions you get you fanatics that take it too far. Hey lets not for get the Holy war Chistians inacted a little scirmish called the crusades, oh and the inquisition, But back to the question at hand, if we tolerate islam (just a religion, something we expect from everyone no matter what our beliefs) should we tolerate a genocidal politacal group, with no religious affiliation and not just a hate for jews but hate for blacks and gays. My point is seperate the idea of islam from al Queda. Just as we have seperated nazis from every other german who wasn't a member, or was forcefully joined. Just keep and open mind. (and really i'm not trying to come off as an *** but you should read up on islam. You be surprised at the misconception most of us have about it) Just remember that Hate is non discrimitory, christians hate jews, jews hate muslims, muslims hate christians. hell theres dissention among the rank of each major religion. protistants hate catholics and vice versa... things like that. but Love and acceptence is also universal. We each should look and learn as much as we can if we disagree thats fine, theres no need to kill someone for a differing view. (sorry about the long *** answer I just hit a hot streak and had to go with it.)

If the question is "If we can tolerate Osama and Fiends, should we tolerate Nazis?"...then I could accept the question and give a resounding NO!!!

But equating Islam (which no matter what one thinks of it is a religion) with Nazism (which is a political Ideology)...this speaks nothing but ignorance and a lack of knowledge.

Nonetheless all lunatics and extremists no matter what stripe they wear must be not be tolerated!!!

Islam and Naziism? The two have absolutely nothing in common. Adolf Hitler believed that the "master race" fell to the earth from an ice-moon, created by odin (or, wotan, or woeden, depending on which language). Muslims believe in God, the same one as you if you're a Christian or a Jew. The real question is should we tolerate bigoted questions like these.
I am a German-American and as such, i hate Hitler and his regime for disgracing my people. If i were a Muslim, I would probably hate Bin-Laden for disgracing my people.

Why are you comparing Islam to Nazis? Only the fanatics are the problem.

BTW: We DO tolerate Nazis...far more than they deserve. They are allowed to speak their views and demonstrate when they have their paperwork in order. They are allowed the same freedom of speech that everyone else enjoys. Neither Nazis nor muslims are free to go out and kill someone, though. The weight of the law comes down equally hard on Nazis, Muslims, jews, and Christians who commit murder.

Nazis took a political stance to say that they wanted the same thing (and then forced it through). Most Muslims are peaceful and don't agree with the actions of the violent minority. Why do people find this difference so hard to understand, or is it just you need to hate people?

Sure, since we also tolerate Christianity...

"The Nazis and Adolf Hitler are commonly thought of as representing the antithesis of Christianity and Christian values. If that's true, why did tens of millions of German Christians adore Hitler, join the Nazis, and participate in the Holocaust (among other atrocities)? Hitler and the Nazis promoted a Christian nationalism, anti-communism, anti-Semitism, and return to traditional values which most Christians appreciated. The Nazi party platform specifically endorsed 'positive' Christianity."

The comparison you are trying to make does not exist, you twit. Nazism was a single lunatic's ideology run riot. Islam is a religion. The difference between the two is that while you get good, bad and indifferent Muslims, there's no such thing as a good Nazi.

I guess that would depend on how we were to define religion. As far as I am aware Islam is a faith whereas Nazis was or is an ideal! I could be wrong though - I'm not an expert, its just my personal opinion!

Interesting question though!
