Yeah...disease my ***. It is not a disease. That is an excuse that doctors are coming up with to save the butts of all the overweight people and making them feel better. It is self induced and a very conscious decision. I don't think it is genetic. I think the closest someone could come to saying that obesity is a disease is that some families and types of people are more "thick boned" than others, so they may have a denser frame, but that's it. They really shouldn't have extra fat on them.

It's becoming a huge and growing problem, but there are way to do your best to prevent obesity. First stop being overweight, which means eating healthy with vegetables, fruits, fish, etc. and getting exercise through a gym, sports, or walking/running.
Sometimes however, obesity comes through genetics and the next best thing to do is to look into medical treatments such as bypass surgery. It's the most effective way to lose a lot of weight, but it takes tons of will power to keep the weight off.

Lazy B. Underwear goes inside the pants. I was listening to the CD in the car this morning. I actually brought the single it was so funny... "It was terrible Johnny - there were pork chops and cheesecake everywhere"! I also like the bit about homeless people saving up to buy a throw and some scatter cushions!

Obesity a disease? Not a chance! It's either a result of no self-control. OR a SYMPTOM of a fairly uncommon glandular disorder. That's the excuse most lazy fat people use in order not to try and lose weight. Even morbidly obese people can usually lose weight if they TRY!

Disease! Yeah, right! OK, drink tons of water, exercise, quit eating junk, exercise, eat more salads with raw veggies cut up in there, drink tons of water, exercise, never eat until full, exercise, push away from the table. Hungry? Eat a carrot stick. If you desire to lose weight, really desire, you will. If someone is really motivated then it doesn't matter which program they choose, they will lose weight. Determination or the lack of it is the whole ball of wax when it comes to losing weight.

I do not think of it as a Disease. The best way to solve the problem is Healthy Diet and Exercise. My dad was 125 lbs over weight, I helped him with eating right and exercising, and now he will see all his grand-kids graduate!!! Best of Luck,,,,,

Sorry, but obesity is NOT, despite what we are being told, a disease. It is not a handicap, either. It is a choice, just like smoking or not, exercising or not, bathing or not, etc.

Have you heard that song? 'How did you survive the obesity epidemic of 2004?' 'Oh, it wasn't easy son, there was cheesecake and pork chops everywhere.'
Made me laugh till me bollocks shot out of my nose.
