Look at any Pride fight champion, UFC champion or K-1, MMAs winningest style is the combination of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu/Muay Thai kick boxing. Don't worry about Krav or Karate, there are no MMA champions who use these styles. Your butt will be owned by anyone who trains in MMA Brazilian Jiujitsu/MuayThai.

Could he EASILY take down a karate-ka? No!
Could he do it? Maybe
I study and teach Karate but have a great respect for Krav Maga. I would love to see a Krav Maga practiciner with 10 years of training take on a Karate-ka with 10 years of training.
I think the Karate-ka would eventualy win because he is an expert in distance to the opponent. He would have to use proper fighting distance to keep the grappling techniques of Krav Maga away.
I think it would be a tough fight on both people.

Krav Maga is not a sport!! Its a 100% selfdefence so its hard to spar in Krav maga.

Its mostly up to the individual fighter theres no sure answer. But a Krav maga fighter should know how to handle him self in a real life situation better than a Karate-ka.

Probably, Krav is more of a grapple ,restrain and take down style. So yes a competent
practitioner of Krav can hold their own against
karate and take then down.It mostly depends
on the individual.

Krav Maga( contact combat) is from the Bratislavia ghetto. It is the official combat system of the Israeli defense force and a
lot of police forces are trained in it.
Imi lichtenfeld founded it.

Krav Maga take and borrows distinctive concepts to greater wholesome a particular envirionment: highway fights the place one is possibly to be out numbered and/or face those with weapons. MMA combines concepts to be utilized in a combating ecosystem as a sport. evaluating the two is stupid using fact they're used for 2 thoroughly countless issues Its like asserting a racecar might suck interior the streets of Iraq while in comparison with an armored and armed Humvee. to show that one around, that Humvee might suck using around a race music. nicely, the worldwide of MMA is the race music and Krav Maga is the sluggish, lumbering Humvee racing agianst automobiles which could holiday over 200 mph. some one getting into an MMA combat with not something greater that Krav Maga training may be in for a rude awakening against a knowledgeable and conditioned MMA fighter using fact the combat might final longer and there are policies that ward off the KM practioner from using issues like groin stikes, eye gouges and weapons interior the confines of an MMA cage. Like how the Humvee could not use the roof mouted gadget gun to shoot the different automobiles on the race music.

We have all seen how well practicioners of just one art do in MMA basically they get thier asses kicked in a street fight against someone who studies many arts and puts them togather. A man who knows only karate, krav, kung-fu or jiu jitsu gets destroyed in a rather quick and bloody fashion. I have studied several arts such as TKD, gung-fu, karate and have seen blackbelts that could'nt fight thier way out of a wet paper bag. With all this being said, It all depends on the fighter! And keep into consideration that ANY man/woman can be brought to thier knees with 1 well placed solid punch/kick.

I am thinking you do not study martial arts as you are missing so many factors and you are using the word "know" when you should be saying "practice" or "study".
The bottom line her is this, the manner of training is way more important than the style.
