Because their parents taught them that the stories in the Bible are true, along with the mass majority of other people in their lives. They keep on believing in the Bible because their lives are based on it being the absolute truth. Too bad (most of) these people are too bullheaded to even look beyond what they've been taught their whole life instead of thinking for themselves. If you ask a Christian if they are sure the God exists then he or she will reply yes because I have faith, why do you question my faith. Too bad. Taking what others believe as true without putting it under a microscope and doing research for themselves (not just reading the Bible but looking into other religions as well, which they do not do because they have been taught that other beliefs besides their own are actually the devil's making to confuse and lead them away from God.)
Also the Bible teaches that those who do good will be rewarded, as those who do wrong will be punished, and when you die you still have a soul that goes somewhere instead of just a rotting corpse. So Religion is actually something to comfort people from what they view as wrong. To believe that a Deity will someday judge all and give all their due gives them security from all the immoral acts done here. on Earth

Reading the Bible offers the history of mankind. Success, failure, the "dos and dont's" in life are all there. The Bible shows how much God loves us and what He did in the person of Jesus Christ to give us salvation. The Bible might be considered a text book on life. Reading it, following it, is the way to true happiness and eternal life. It might be a little hard to fully understand at times and we may not always fully comprehend the "why" of things. Like: why did He do that? Why do bad things happen to good people? We might not fully understand Gods ways right now...but we will some day. Like a three year old child doesn't understand why he can't play in the street, why he can't drive the car, why he can't just eat ice cream and candy for every meal. He doesn't understand how to do math yet...but he will some day. It's the same way God to us. The Bible contains GODS word and I think that is why people believe in it.

Imagine you are new in a cretain town or continent, you cant possibly know each corner of that town would you? No you wouldnt,(also when you buy something complicated dont you read through the guide menu to help you operate it )so to help you, you might get a map as your guide,so is the BIBLE,it is there to guide those who believe there is GOD,and have a better understanding...people believe in the BIBLE because they have believed that it contains facts of the life before and that to come, how and what GOD is, it up to an individual to take it or leave it, but i encourage you to take it....

Because they are honestly foolish enough to believe it is the word of God. Nevermind that it was conveniently rewritten countless times throughout history to support the beliefs of the religious and political hustlers running the show at the time and is loaded with contradictions. The bible is fiction.

God created the various paths on earth to suit our spiritual levels of awareness [consciousness} Life is not a random walk and everything is according to a divine plan .We are in this universe to learn LOVE but its unfortunate some adherents read their scriptures up side down .The teachings of any religion is supposed to take us closer to GOD and more responsible to others. What is wrong with the bible if it serves the needs of those who need it?We all fall into specific levels of consciousness even the atheist .

The bible is merely a collection of stories, most of them nowhere near the true happenings. But they are meant to teach a lesson and the book has some good teachings in it. Alot if it is a load of bullocks though, written in by those who would have you conform and obey.

tones of psychology no need to repeat plus millenniums of believers before us transmitting genetic information and the way of thinking. we really are deeply rooted in the history of European civilization and much less free in our thoughts than we think.
