it's really hard to give an accurate instruction of a sound, there's got to be plenty of sites with sound samples and things like that.

The most common way to say R in swedish is to use the tip of your tongue to do a sort of "twirl". When americans say R they put it sort of flat on the tongue, brittish people seem to swallow the letter a lot. The swedish way is somethere in between, just letting your tongue do a small twist in the front of the mouth, so it's less soundable than the american R.

In southen sweden the R is different, closer to the french R, instead useing the "root" of the tongue. It's not the most common way to say the letter, but it's still correct, and if you can manage a french R (such in Rêve, Rouge) your not that far out anyway.

there is no specific way of pronouncing "R" in swedish. depends on the accent you speak.
