Americans always point finger on Arab and Asia for not giving equal rights to Women, and still donot have a woman president yet. In contray we have so many examples of woman Lead countries, Mrs. Indira Gandhi of India, Mrs. Benazir of Pakistan, Mrs. Chandrika of Srilanka, Mrs. Begam of Bangladesh, Malaysia, Indonesia has/had lady presidents...
Good Question Bro.

I am not concerned over the gender of the President, or the political affiliation. There have been good and bad Democrats and Republican Presidents so that, to me, is really not so important to me since I vote for the individual I believe best represents the country and has a better platform.
The problem has been that lately, Presidents have been a major disappointment. I suspect that for the most part, this has become a Plutocratic Republic where the Presidents are mere puppets for the super rich and powerful, representing their best interests over the public (the majority). It has been utterly disgraceful how the Presidents can campaign and make promises and yet once elected they betray their word and betray the voters...
Would a woman make a difference or would she be yet another puppet for the super-rich and wealthy? Condee's inactivity and her shopping spree and her presence at the theater while Louisiana was flooding (and people booing her and yelling at her about what was going on... and her reaction, annoyance at being disturbed during her shopping and her having to leave the theater) certainly gave me something to think about. Hilary? She's the consummate politician, moreso than Slick Willy.
I don't see a woman today that I would want to entrust the White House to and the responsibility of running this Nation and representing this country in world matters. Is there a woman who is actually familiar with the operations of the Armed Services? Is there one out there that can formulate her own ideas if she were President and we were faced with a national emergency (like Dubya was caught on 9/11, and with Katrina... and he was out to lunch on both occasions or sitting on the crapper!)...? WHAT are her qualifications? Let's see her record up to date? Bring her on!
The next President, whether male or female or whether Democrat or Republic... I hope it's not another wealthy person or another puppet looking out for the interests and special agendas of the super-rich... I hope its a competent, intelligent philosopher with no ego issues and no problems with telling the truth and keeping his/her word! Let's have an honest person in the White House for a change!!!

women are political leaders all global...very effectively. The question is, will u . s . of america take a woman president heavily? regrettably, i imagine the answer is not any. even with her journey or understanding (and that i do not unavoidably advise Clinton now...), i do not trust that the U. S. is in a position to vote for or help a woman contained in the oval workplace. So, contained in the right, what does that say about the most excellent united states of america contained in the international? a lot for 'the great individual for the interest'.

Someone here is worried about a woman vs man race because it would only be about gender.....hey, gender might be a real part of the issue. Would a woman tend to take a stand that is more humanistic than a man? Well, I've worked for 1 or 2 nasty woman, so it wouldn't necessarily be the case, but it's a definite possibility.
Look, people here are already doing what your speaking of, only it's not voting for someone simply because they are a woman, it's voting for someone SOLELY on the use of certain words, God, Patriotism, Terror. Someone who truly represents these words must truly consider the consequences of his and our actions. The decisions our country is making now will resonate long into the future, and I don't think they are going to bring the effect we are hoping for...

i guess only time will tell. It seems that Hilary Clinton may run in the next election. i don't think it's a gender thing (because aren't there more women than men??) i don't think it's a religious thing either- because we've had such a lack of women candidates you can't say that certain religions won't vote for a women (because even if that's what the religion teaches- this opinion is not solidified without some kind of evidence).
For myself i think you have to evalute each candidate, their positions and issues that are personally important to you. And you choose the best candidate, regardless of age, gender, race, etc.
Hope that helps,
Nickster

When is Oprah going to run for president?
Just hope Hilliary doesn't get the job!
Too many captains of industry influence the choice of candidates, and they are still predominately men! So guess this balance may need to change a bit. Check out Europe, not too many women there, France, Spain, Italy, think Germany has just got it's first woman Chancellor, Russia, China & Japan??

I'm really concerned about a woman running for president against a man, because then the politics go out the window. Most people feel very strongy either way, they will either vote for her no matter what her policy, or they won't vote for her in spite of her policy. I think the best scenario would be two women running against each other, say Condi Rice vs. Hilary Clinton, then it's no longer about gender, it's about politics. This could happen as soon as 2008.

*sigh* The country is still working on comeing out of the ages of predjeduce again't women (and others) and what is believed that we can and can't do.
Someday. I'd personally love to see a multi-racial woman in there. Maybe even largely Native American who can get some of that justice done.

I'll be on the edge of sexist hell, but that whole thing about commander-in-chief of the most powerful military in the world keeps most women out of that job. I can answer part 2 better: It's a political problem. Americans don't have any problem believing that a woman could manage the federal government, but I think that people doubt that a woman could be the top dog of our military.
Just my opinion.

i hope for never. I have not seen a woman yet with power of any kind that can handle the pressure properly. This state has had a cuple of women governors and we are in an awful state due to the one in now. It went so far to prove that the voted that made her win weree from dead people and the ciourts threw it out and she still got the election. I do not believe for one minute that there is anything godly about that. It is awful and bad I can hardly wait to vote her out.
