Try smoked hocks, two garlic cloves, 1 onion, 1 cup pinto beans (or peruvian beans-which ever you like) simmer at high in crock pot. Husband and kids love them.

Simmer hamhocks with celery, bay leaf, basil, and pepper for two hours. Add cooked red beans and simmer together fifteen minutes. Eat with corn bread, or serve over rice.
