I can never remember any of my dreams. I assume I do dream but with no recollections, how do I know?

Anybody else have no recall of dreams?

Have never smoked cannabis

Have tried going to sleep with music.

Don't use an alarm clock.

It makes no difference if I wake up by self or by low playing radio.

I know someone that never remembers his dreams. It is quite rare but not unknown.

You do dream even though you don't remember. How do we know this? Because people prevented from dreaming go violently psychotic within 3 weeks. So unless you are like that, you must be dreaming occasionally.

We dream all night, every night. We usually remember the last dream we were having as we are coming out of our deep sleep. Maybe you do not come round gently, but go from deep sleep to awake very suddenly.

Try this:- set a radio alarm clock to go off very quietly next to you. Make sure that it is not set to startle you but wake you slowly and gently. The sound of the radio can sometimes be incorporated into your dream and you might have some recollection of it.

Well I know my husband has the same problem. This okay... What is happening is more than likely you are a "hard sleeper". You are normal. Lots of people either don't dream or cant remember all or part of their dreams. The one thing to be concerned with is are you getting enough sleep?

Yeah i can only remember dreams for about 3 seconds after i wake up. Try to remember as much as you can and write it down quickly then look them up in a dream dictionary. I had a dream about a window cleaner last night (??!)...... strange...... Love your avator by the way!

One of the theories about why we dream is that dreams prepare us for real life. Weird things happen and bad things happen in dreams sometimes, and experiencing that might make it easier when real life comes along and gets weird or crappy. So it makes sense that you're always getting prepared for something in a dream. The nightmares are to prepare you. If you go through that, life will be less scary in comparison, right?

As soon as I wake up, I remember the dream but it fades within 30 seconds to nothing.

I rarely remember my dreams either. But you have to dream its your brains way of relaxing, otherwise you'd go mad.Try writing down whats in your head as soon as you wake up.
