Speedy means that you cannot be held indefinately without a trial. Impartial means that there will be no bias towards either side. Public means that anyone can attend, and all rulings and court decisions are made available to the public.

You arrest or capture someone and lock them up for four years, say in Gitmo. Then you put them in front of a magistrate who is convinced they wouldn't be here if they weren't guilty. All of this is buried in secrecy so that people generally don't know about the trial. Even the person's relatives don't know where he has disappeared to. This is the Bush regime's idea of justice.

The opposite of that is a speedy, impartial and public trial.

The China News Service reported that during early June an additional 16 drug smugglers had been executed and 129 more sentenced to life imprisonment in various regions.
