Thankyou for the wonderful site that proves the Bible to be true. What a rare find. It is ironic that I have answered people that the Bible is true due to the fact that it has been and is still used as a road map to evry archeologial dig ever done.

Ugh. Not this again.

Look, the first false dilemma is in the opening paragraph.

And this has nothing to do with why I don't believe in God.

I have looked at all this before, seen the evidence, read the arguments..... and do you know what?

According to this site, us atheists just run away from the masses of evidence.

Let's start with that first lie, and move on to the many others.

Actually, let's not. Now I think about it, that has little to do with why I don't believe.

I don't believe in the Bible or any other Holy Book - once I did, was reading the Bible with great interest, and then read Psalm 14:1. Instantly knew that the idea that this was inspired by God was far from the truth.

Atheist ever since.

Hello!! :o) I believe that Jesus not only existed - but that He was [and IS] what the Bible says He claimed to be. In other words - I believe that Jesus IS the Son of God and that man must go through Him in order to be forgiven of their sins and welcomed into heaven.

That said... many years ago - I had a rather heated [yet friendly] discussion with the pastor of the church I was going to. Like the person who wrote that page you linked us to - the pastor of my church also believed that the Bible itself - proved itself to be true. He referred to Old Testament scripture and then New Testament scripture and said [basically] "See... what the Bible SAID would happen in the Old Testament - DID happen - as you can clearly see in the New Testament!!" I argued that if I walked out of the room and wrote on a piece paper that I would be walking into that room on the day that I was there - but wrote the date 1965 on the paper - would that 'prove' that the paper was telling the truth? The pastor [who was a very nice guy - make no mistake about that] had to admit that I was making a valid point. And that was... IF someone doesn't accept ANY of the Bible as being 'the truth' - why are they going to accept the argument that ONE part of the Bible 'proves' the OTHER PART to be TRUE?! See what I mean? Whether or not one accepts that the Bible is indeed God's message to man - is a matter of FAITH - and NOT a matter of 'reason' or 'logic' or 'proof'. [At least not insofar as how 'man' defines those words] Any Christian that holds to the idea that they can PROVE that God is real or that Jesus was Who the Bible says He was - is walking on a very slippery slope indeed. I believe in God and Jesus. [as I said at the beginning of this long-winded message] But I can't offer ANY proof of their existence. I can't put God into a test tube and say, "See... there He is!!" But I believe in Him all the same. It would be my hope that - perhaps - through ME - someone will begin to question what they have already accepted as the 'truth' and begin to entertain the idea that God really IS who the Bible says He is. And then 'seek out God' for themselves. [Which is how I came to believe in the first place] Have a great day!! Craig!! :o)

Uhmm, because extraordinary claims demand extraordinary evidence.

Just because a book is old doesn't mean it's true. (Or do you think the Illiad is true too?). And just because lots of people believe something doesn't mean it's true either. (Or do you believe the earth is flat? People used to believe that earlier).

Apart from an old collection of books, and lots of people that work hard to deceive themselves, there is absolutely nothing that makes me think that Jesus is God.

If you look at the historical facts, there were lots of Messiahs around Jesus time. Monty Pythons "Life of Brian" is actually a pretty accurate description in this respect.

If jesus is god then why didn't he just forgive you. Why did he have to sacrifice his "life" for your sins.. why not just say.. you are forgiven.

Mark 10:18

Jesus said to him, "Why do you call me good? No one is good except one-God.

How do you explain that. ?

I am not a christian. i reject the whole notion of Trinity or son of god. but how do you explain that?

the real question is there a God and do we beleive in God, if God exists then God can be in any form Christ, Allah, Shiva....... its just a matter of beleif in God.If we beleive in God let us stop fighting in the name of God or Relegion. if someone doesnot beleive in Christ he/she may beleive in Allah or Shiva, what matters after all he beleives in God in a different name. Cheer up man, Let peace survail.
