I live in muslim majority country. I've never seen or heard women are denied medical care. Health care for poor women and children are encouraged. It is not illegal for women to be examined by male doctors and there are also many female doctors. Even the head of national health department is a female doctor.

FIRST: That's so wrong. A specific situation in which a woman needs medical care, and no good female doctors are around, it's permitted to be examined by a male doctor, since he wouldn't, as a believing Muslim man, do it for lust. This Fatwa was issued by Al-Azhar Islamic institute in Egypt.
SECOND: To Adyghe1985, where do you get your stupid info? On the contrary, Muhammad (PBUH) said in a Hadith: "Seeking knowledge is an OBLIGATION, on every Muslim man and Muslim WOMAN". Islam never prohibited women from learning, but on the contrary, made it an obligation on them.

I am an Islamic girl, n up untill now i have never deny any medical cares conducted by males or females doctors. Plus i never heard that examination by male docs to female patients r illegal. i am quite aware that anything conducted for my own benefit in life r not illegal as long as it doesnt give any negative senses or hurting anybody elses.

This is not true, how come it is illegal while many male doctors are specialized in women health? Besides, if women feel uncomfortable to see a male doctor, they seek a female doctor. It is their decision not a governamental rule!

to adighe1985: who said Muslim women can't be educated?? i'm a Muslim women and am now completing my diploma in Biomedical Science, majoring in Biomedical Technology. n going to further my studies soon, with Allah's will.
now that's what i call false n dumb accusation. sorry, but it's really annoying when u see people who ACT as though they know ALL about Islam n yet make such an ignorant remark.
and btw, in Islam, women ARE allowed to show their 'aurah (parts of the body that have to be covered except for the face and hands) for MEDICAL purposes. simply because Islam wants the best for us, and prohibit anything that are harmful to us, whether or not we realise it (such as drinking alcohol, gambling, etc.).
again sara, do carry out some homework and research before u broadcast ur ignorance to the world. *quoted*
