I say we will last about another 100 years. By then I will be dead, so I don't care. I think we will all go to Heaven if it's true that everyone is forgiven for their sins. But that's if the ask to be forgiven. I guess it's gonna be crowded.

Matt,
"Is this the end of the world?"
Not for some time, read below. I wrote this before because this question keeps coming up. I answered your other questions too after this part. So here it is.
IMPORTANT: Going backwards from the End.
The Post Millennium
There will be a time when Satan is released from a place where he was bound for a thousand years. When he comes out, he will convince a certain people to rise up and come against Jesus who is at Jerusalem. No one except God knows how long that will take, and when it will occur.
The Millennium
Which means: 1000 years of Christ ruling on Earth. He comes down and sets His feet upon the Mount of Olives in Israel after He brings the enemies of Israel together to make war against them. He destroys those enemies and sets up the 1000-year earthly Kingdom. Not all Christians believe this, but I do and those who believe like me.
The Great Tribulation
This is a seven-year period when God pours His wrath out on the Earth. It occurs after those that are in the body of Christ (the church), are taken out of the way. Often referred to as the Rapture of the Church, the Jews will have the temple built in Jerusalem, and on the World's stage a man supposedly of Peace will actually make peace in the Middle East for seven years, three and one half years into the deal he will break that promise, and make war. So, seven years, the last three and one half years there will be many things happening that will make it seem that the Earth is being destroyed.
The Present Day
We are on the far side of all that I have written. Israel is a nation once again as was prophesied. The church is awaiting the Rapture. The Rapture, as with all the fulfilled "Set Times" or "Feasts" that are observed by the Jews were set by God to show His manipulation of history, in advance.
For instance: Jesus was laid in the tomb as a fulfillment of Passover. The Spirit of God was poured out on men speaking the tongues of all nations on Pentecost. The Rapture of the Church will take place on the Feast of the Trumpets. It might not be this year, but on any year it won't occur unless it's on the Feast of the Trumpets. This year, the Feast of the Trumpets happens on 23 September, next month. If it does not happen then, it wont happen until one of the later years on the Feast of the Trumpets.
So we have the Rapture, whenever that is to take place, the Great Tribulation of seven years, the millennium for a thousand years, and the time that it takes Satan to convince a people to come again Jesus in Jerusalem, however long that is before the end of the world.
"If so how many ppl are actually going to make it through the gates of heaven?"
Most are not going into heaven.
"And what is the root of all evil?"
That's actually a misquote from a verse. It's often used. The love of money is the root of all sorts of evil. That's supposed to be the real translation.
Now, if you really mean THE root of all evil, Satan is, we are, sin is. All of those because we inherited it. That really sucks, but that's the way it is.

It is not the end of the world but a new beggining. Atime of total peace where all will get along even with the wild animals. No man can say how many people will make it through the gates of heaven that is for God to judge and no man. I pray there are alot of us when that time comes and I do not feel personally that it is all that far off when I do not know nor will any mortal, We are to watch for the signs and be ready but no man knows the hour or day.

There is no true root to evil, as evil does not exist as a material thing. It is only what is left when you take away goodness. As for getting through the gates, I intend to stay right here, and be a part of the "other sheep not of this fold, who receive everlasting life, not immortal life, as those chosen to serve in Heaven. I hope to spend 1000 years helping to rebuild the planet (not the world) back into a paradise. As for the end of the world, that never did mean the planet, it refers only to people, and not even the animals. In the Bible, it refers to persons not in keeping with God's Word, which also includes those who claim to speak in the name of Christ, but pick and choose what teachings they will follow.

I do believe that the end is near. Man has became to dependent on Electronics and Science and that more and more have given up on religion. They have given in to the science if you will. Like yesterday I saw a Documentary on Moses well more of how he made water turn to blood, Part the water, and the rest of the plagues. They said that a Volcano and Earthquakes cause it to keep things short. I believe that many will pass through the gates of heaven but not as many that should. In my opinion the root of all evil is science.

While it is not the end of the world yet, only God knows how many people are going to heaven. And the LOVE of Money is the root of all evil.

It is not clear what you are referring to by the use of the word "this". Nobody knows how many are going to make it through the gates of heaven. But all those who have put their trust in Jesus and lived it out are going to make it according to the Bible. The Bible also says that the "love of money is the root of all evil" (1Timothy 6:10).

No, the end of the world will be healded by Jesus returning in a cloud of light to judge the living and the dead and that happens on Gods call not mans. Which means we cannot say who is saved and who isn't. However both Babtism and following the teachings of Jesus are said to give many an edge. As to your third question, it is said that the love of money is the root of all evil, which makes sense because Jesus teaches us to love each other, not material things.

Where do you see the signs that this is the end of the world? And what good does it do to worry about it? The book of Revelation (no "s" at the end) contains a number i think, but i can't remember it. The root of all evil? You probably should know if you have any knowledge of the Bible whatsoever.

World will never end ,even if all life will be destroyed through the man's missmanagment. There are no gates of heaven, these are an invention of primitive minds. There is no evil except what you will call "evil".
