it could be harder to adopt and people will judge you, but they do that anyway, married or not. as for dignity, that's up to the individual to hold that strength and not to let people tear them down. it's a shame to even have to deal with these elements. support groups could be helpful.
right now homosexual marriage is not recognized in all states so you are pretty confined. also, the federal government doesn't recognize it as a marriage either so your screwed if your spouse dies, no social security or pension for the survivor.

By asking this am I to assume you think there are some advantages to it? It's not normal, widely accepted. You cannot adopt a child without pwople wondering if you are going to do something immoral to it and warp it's mind. The biggest disadvantage is it is an abomination before God. You will definately have lots of explaining to do. I do not feel real confident that he will agree there is a gay gene. After all, he created us in his image and if it that horrible of a thing for him to accept, I doubt he would have given that kind of gene to anyone on purpose. My only problem with homosexual couples is the way they seem to feel the need to display it so openly and almost revel in their going against the norm. I would no more walk in a normalcy parade screaming about how I make love with my husband. What takes place in the bedroom , whether it be between adam & eve or adam & steve ought to be special enough to the 2 people involved that it should stay in their bedroom.

Two major disadvantages are :-

1) you cannot have progeny of your own. Even if you adopt, the child will be always subjected to ridicule in society - that would have an adverse impact on his personality, his not being part of a "normal family"

2) you will always be discriminated by society at large, sometimes even ridiculed.

Having said the above. I feel, if you have the conviction and courage, a "devil take care" attitude, then go ahead and do what your heart tells you. A glowing example is Elton John !!! Do your thing and enjoy life !!

There are none apart from the prejudges and discrimination that is faced by arrogant and ignorant people. Homosexuals are not exclusive to this type of repungent behavior.

As for building a family, none if you plan to adopt but if going for a natural birth a willing sperm donor may be difficult to find

Pretty much the only real disadvantage you will face is the discrimintion from bigoted people all around you. If the couple loves and supports eachother, you will have the same chance for a succesful marriage as a heterosexual couple otherwise.

I am not bigoted just because I believe what the Bible say in 1Corinthians 6:9-19. I have seen a couple of different "families" in lesbian tyoe relationships and it is hard the kids. They are disresprctful toward the parent and hard to get along with in school . Not because the majority of the kids treated them bad but the atitude of the people involved. It is sad life is hard enoug on kids and this just makes it harder.

There is pressure from the soicety. The couple cannot have kids. Even if they adopted one, scientific research has proven that the kids will be more likely be mocked at etc.
BUT MOST IMPORTANT OF ALL, MARRIAGE--SEX--HAVING KIDS. IT CAN NEVER HAPPEN IN HOMOSEXUAL MARRIAGES.
But I also believe that love can exist in all condition and has no limits or boundaries.
I think that I seem to be contradicting myself.:-)

nicely i favored you taking the time to make us sense much less indignant. i will trust you and say that asserting gay is rather much less offensive than asserting gay. yet for my section i for my section do not care. i'm pleased with gay, homo, queer, even though. through fact its who i'm. i'm pleased with who i'm. So it does not offend me whilst somebody calls me gay, homo, or queer. It does get a splash extra offensive whilst somebody calls me a fag. through fact it variety of feels that element era fag is used in the direction of flamoyant gays and im some distance from that. yet interior the top i wont make a great deal approximately it. I do understand you element and its very thrilling through fact it happens each and all of the time. yet there are diverse form of gays and its loopy yet there continues to be discrimination interior the LGBT community. So i prefer to declare thank you for taking the time to fairly ask us what we felt became terrific.
