Can you contact drug manufacturers personally to obtain these pens, or are there places where you can contact drug representatives to buy directly? I ask because I love many of the pens that I write with at medical offices, and would like some for personal use.... although I am not sure which avenues are possible, or even legal. I would rather not purchase from ebay, as you're never sure how the items were obtained. I'd hope to not line the pockets of someone who stole from a representative or office. Thanks for your responses!

I was going to add that I wasn't interested in stealing the pens, although figured that was a given.... though the answer has already been stated... very quickly, I might add. :) Would rather buy than steal!

I contacted GSK, and they sent me a response... basically saying their "promotional items" are limited in number and restricted to healthcare professional use. I would imagine they would share one item. Well, I suppose a million items is limited, and I don't deserve one. ;)

The only source I've found is Ebay, but maybe you could ask the medical office manager if you could take some home with you. It's not like they paid for them; they are given away free by the drug reps to the medical offices in the hopes that they will prescribe the advertised drug.

Write a letter to the drug companies, stating you wrote in your above post. I'm sure Pfizer and the other drug companies would not mind sending you one or two pens.

visit your doctor's office or if u make an appt. in the future, ask the receptionist to give u some or the nurse if they don't mind doing that. at the office i work at, we get so many pens from reps that we end up throwing alot of it coz we have our favorites and we have a bunch that we don't care for. we have alot of patients that are teachers and i give them bags and bags of it. the doctor's i work with doesn't care, we have too many. so, simply ask and i guarantee you they'll give it to you or you can talk to someone at your doctor's office to save it for you instead of throwing them away.
