All fans are off...the duct is running horizontal through walls...We have blocked one end off and put food and light at the opening where the kitten went to hide. Any kind help appreciated!!! This kitten has only lived at this persons house for 4 days so he is nervous and doesn't respond to toys. He was outgoing prior to the cleaning lady coming in the house which obviously frieghtened him.

I have also tried animal control, Toronto Humane Society and am thinking of trying the wildlife associaation. I think you can pay them but I wondered if any more suggestions in case they can't do it. We are not looking for a freebee or anything.

Don't worry, he'll come out, sooner or later. Putting food at one end was a good idea, but having a bunch of people (especially strangers) around and making a big deal about it will scare him more. I had a cat that went up the chimney, and my dad offered that advice, and a couple of hours later, he came out.

Oops! a freebie!! Send my $100 consulting fee to...(just kidding)

Hey, I could make money at this!!

I live in Toronto too, and don't know of any company that specifically deal with this, but I would suggest a duct cleaning company that have long hoses and stuff to get inside the ducts. Maybe they could put the hoses down one end, forcing the kitten out the other. I hope it all works out, I remember my cat stuck in the chimney once. Very worrisome. Good luck!!

Poor guy!

Call your vet if you have their off-hours phone number. Or there may be a 24 hour vet listed in the phone book. Animal control (no idea what it is called in Canada) may be able to help you as well.

Good luck.

I know this sounds silly, but tuna water (from a can of tuna) always lures my cats from their hiding spot, try to waft or blow the scent in there. And don't have too many people near the opening seeing how the poor baby is skiddish. Good luck, and please update on the progress.

Call your local human society, they may have some more ideas
that will help lure him out, or a humane trap that you can borrow.
They have a lot of experience in these matters, so call them and
ask for help.
