You have to first get rid of the fat that's covering your abs and really work hard on abdominal exercises and core exercises. I do not think that having a good looking (not too muscular) six pack looks good on a woman. I have seen many that have over done it, but it's not freakish it just shows that a woman is healthy and takes care of her body. Start working on your diet. Eat high fiber daily (25-30g a day), high protein and low saturated fats. Drink plenty of water (at least half your body weight in ounces a day) and cut back on the sodium. No more than 2000-2500 mg a day. As long as you're drinking the water, this isn't a high amount of sodium. Also, cut back or completely out the carbonated beverages and limit refined sugars. Cardio 3-4 times a week for 30-45 minutes, intervals work the best and don't forget weight training and ab work every other day. Good luck!

It's the fat that's covering your abs that's the problem.

Because us women generally store more fat than men, and we're programmed to keep it, it's damned difficult to strip enough fat from the abs to get the washboard effect.

It comes down to hard, boring dieting and being lucky with genetics.

The best stomachs I've seen have been girls in my ashtanga yoga class. In ahtangs you do all the cardio work with 'muscle locks' in place, so they've got fantastic abs but still a few paces away from the six pack.

Running has definitely given me the biggest change, but I've got a long way to go.

Good luck whatever you choose x

hi! fat is like wearing a coat , a jumper etc. Do not over do stomach exercise as the muscles can grow like any other. Diet is the answer here! Eat lots of raw food, the fat will melt away. Also do fast walking for 30 mins in the morning before you eat anything. The carbs are all used up while sleeping. This means you will tap into fat reserves better. Follow my instructions and you will see results all over your body!

We all have sixpacks. It's the fat above them that is the problem. While exercise will certainly help make the sixpack even better, the only way to actually see it, is to loose the fat.

And you can't just loose the fat over your stomach, you have to loose fat all over your body (if somebody tells you otherwise, they're lying!). The only way for you to loose fat is with a diet (as I assume you already exercise).

Some people find that easy. Most people do not. Your body is not designed to look like they do in magazines. A small amount of fat is natural and healthy. You can force your body to loose it, but you have to decide if it's worth it.
