If they want to be free, yes. If you love them then you care about them. If you care about them then you want them to be happy.

it's a hard thing to do but it's also the best thing. if it's not healthy anymore then what's the use of keeping a relationship intact. it's better that you set someone free so that he/she has time to think it over and you too has time to sort things out. maybe in the near future if you are really meant for each other and you've both matured and grew up then that's the time to keep it going. lessons are learned and from there you look forward to a great relationship ahead.

No, because if you truly love someone you want the best for them and the best for them is yourself. To love is to serve and protect so if you love someone that much you will always want to serve and protect them. How can you be able to do that once you've set them free? To me, setting them free is the greatest act of revenge I can exact on them.

Yes, because you are no longer forcing them to stay. If you set them free they are able to have the choice to be with you. They don't feel obligated to be with you. It will make you feel better as a person because they chose to be with you, and they feel secure in their decison because they chose to be with you.

if they are free to leave but chose to stay then they are there cause they like it there. cage them and they will fight to be free. people don't like being owned. you wouldn't want to be in a relationship that you flet trapped in niether will she. Open doors makes better friends.

Yes, if the relationship is a torture to that someone. Why not make more people happy than miserable?
