What works for me when this happens is that first I will lay for about 15 in an uncomfortable position and then get in a comfortable position and generally I will fall asleep. If I don't I get up and read or watch TV on low volumn or go on the computer. Also I keep all lights to a minimum for at least an hour before trying to sleep. Another thing to try is to use red bulbs in your lamps and lighting. Another thing I do is get up the same time every morning no matter how much sleep I get and in a few nights of this I am ready for sleep.

Don't eat anything two hours before bedtime, keep away from caffeine, and when you go to bed make sure the room is quiet, that is no TV or anything else. Have breakfast each morning and take a multivitamin pill, drink lots of water during the day. Exercise regularly, have a healthy diet.

Exercising vigorously_during_the_day_often helps with sleep at night, and getting up early in the morning helps you as well. Sunshine early in the morning helps the brain make melatonin at night which helps you fall asleep and rest. Naps sabotage falling asleep at night as well as do caffeine and other stimulants.
But you need help tonight and here it is: Click on "Peace Above the Storm" at the following link (the others are great too):

Give it a try and I'll pray for your sleep.
God bless.

turn anything noisey off ie tv ,make a cup of camomile tea, with honey, got to your bed room ,put on relaxing music,on a low volume, quietly sip ur tea ,listern to the music, with in half and hour you should be asleep,or you can take natural relaxers as in ,niteall,.you sound lke you are stressed, and cant unwind, try to stop thinking about everthing you need to get done ,it will still be there after you have had a sleep and you can deal with it all then, slow down ,breath slowly ,take deep breaths, sloooooooowly,do everytthing slooooowly, you need to be calm ,its hard to do but dont give in ,yoou have to sometimes actually learn how to calm down,i had to ,and i did it it asnt all in one day either ,you have to change you rat race life ,try it you will never want to go back to the way you are right now its loverly, but you must find time for yourself, get to know yourself better and what your needs are,i was doing so much for everyone else i forgot who i was, sounds daft but true, but now everyday i take a little time just for me ,my time ,my space, the colour of your deb room can help to ,you need a relaxing colour ,light and airy, not a lot going on,mine is crean and light gold ,pure white carpet and seling, dark wood funiture, not much nick knacks ,keep it as spacey as you can ,so if you have clutter ,clear it up make this room youre escape place ,have it as the one room in the house where you can compleatly unwind, and i mean compleatly, tell everyone if you are in that room you are not to be disturbed.and mean it.pamper yourself a little, and remember relax, slooooooooooooooooooooooow down.

find out whats keeping you up. for me it was just to leave a light on in the hall so i wouldn't keep jumping up every few minutes cause i thought i heard something or i saw a shadow. my boyfriend has to run a fan or the radio so the noise will lull him to sleep. read a book or do a crossword puzzle. don't drink caffiene before you go to bed and don't watch tv in the bedroom.

Get lazy in the bath tub, even if it's just to sit in the water, but careful not to doze in it!
Whenever you can, invest in a relaxation tape or cd; or just borrow from the library.
Sleep with a stuffed animal, even if you're grown. That would not make you juvenile.

don't take sleeping pills - it makes you sleep but the sleep does not rest you. try and drink a glass of wine in the evenings. always helps for me.
