Truth is relative to the beholder, and almost everything we know is taught or conditioned. Anyone can be taught or conditioned to a belief - the true measure of intelligence is when one can look at all the angles and arrive at their beleif's through a path of rational thought.

The best gift you can give your children is to teach them critical thinking so they can take the beleifs you've instilled in them and analyze them on their own, and make their own decision.

A lack of the ability to do logical problem solving and critical thinking is often replaced with conditioning to a particular belief. But it is possible to arrive at the decision to practice a particular religion based upon a critical analysis process. So while religion can be taught, it isn't necessarily the teaching of it that is evil.

Each of us has our own Truth, if we only take the time to discover it. And my Truth won't necessarily be the same as yours.

that why you are born with brain/intelligent to find out the truth, to differentiate the good n bad, the right n wrong. Almost every thing has to be taught otherwise whats school for? Whats your parent for? how to you know freedom/love without being taught? even if you read it from books, that itself is the book/author taught you ! you seek answer here in yahoo is also some kind of teaching since you wanted us to show you the correct answer/ideal/thinking ! As you say truth is all pervasive but religion is not. Religion is man made according to their ways of living and so to know of religion it has to be taught by some one who knows about it. Here you require a teacher and a taught. The teacher can be a literate person or person who has under stood things through his own experience and so it has to be taught to any who is not aware of and who is a genuine seeker.

Truth may be all pervasive. But love has to be taught otherwise its just sex.can you read without being taught or do Math. Throw a knife or even make one with out being taught how first.
The truth in any religion needs to be taught first and then its up to you to agree or disgree with its line of thinking.

I beg to differ. Islamics are coming to Chist all over the world. Get yourself a good search engine and look up Walid Shoebat. He was not only an islamic but an islamic terrorist. Here's a link:
http://www.shoebat.com/bio.php
but there's much more than this on the internet about him. There's many more like him. I saw a program once that had 2 former islamic terrorists who had converted to Christ and renounced terrorism.

It is our quest on earth to learn the truth, no matter where we are. Unless you understand the thought of other religions, how will you truely understand your own? Many will have you worshiping man-and his word, but it is up to YOU to find Gods word...and truth. It is a personal thing, a relationship that you build, and not something you find by being taught.

It the more esoteric versions of most religion then questioning and seeking for the truth yourself is important, eg Sufi, monastic Buddism etc.

but most people need to be taught how to question and not comfortably accept everythng given to them by the orthodoxy & media, which are there to serve those with power & keep the status quo. this is the "opiate" of the masses

yeah i agree, Truth exist on its own, and it needn't to be Told again and again, But only when the person has seen The Truth. So, Those who haven't seen The Truth, have to be informed abt The Truth, otherwise it is a chance that they might go on wander around Truth, but Never actually Reach The Truth. Even when the Person reaches The Truth, its just better (though not necessary) to remind him of The Truth, otherwise he may just forget.
Peace to All.

Animated Dogma,
THAT'S RIGHT! And all those people going to school can just stay home. Because if you have to learn it, it can't be truth, because truth is "all pervasive"!!!!! No more learning of anything. Because Animated Dogma has found the old truth; if it takes learning, it ain't the truth. Thank you for enlighhtening us on you excellent display of wisdom!!!!!

its true that love need not to be taught to many, where as too with hatred, and religions is not what that concern us to be learn as what important is of what that lie within it just like a book and a vessel it kept faith within every known religions for centuries. The very key of understanding, hope, and trust which most "childrens" have misuse it for century. so if you ever think about the religion you believe in, try to remember the faith you have for your love.
