I'm reading this book called "Natural Cures" by Kevin Trudeau and in it he makes a reference to a man named Earl Nightingale. He say's that that Nightingale made the claim that you become what you think about. Trudeau then say's that fat people constantly think about their weight, which creates the undesired result of being overweight. How is this possible? Just thinking that you will be fat makes you fat? Is that why I see my face as fat ever since I quit smoking, yet nobody else agrees?

The mind is a very powerful tool.. It can have an effect on many parts of the body as well as the thought processes.. Anyone can learn how to harness the mind to do certain functions normally considered to be under automatic control..The more important aspect is to control the mind and emotions, rather than the other way around. The emotions are more than happy to control your mind and thoughts. Thereby controlling your reactions and responses. Not to overlook what the imagination can add to the mix. This process can do great damage to the chemistry of the body as well as alter hormones and target hormones.. (malfunction)

I think if you objectify yourself and view yourself as something, like overweight, you will not necessarily become it but more believe it. Like if you constantly tell yourself that you're ugly, you will come to believe that you are ugly and see yourself as ugly. The same works for positive things. A popular self esteem boosting technique, affirmation, is such a way. Look at yourself in the mirror and say that you are beautiful and confident, and pretty soon you'll start to believe it. It all comes from within.

yes, this is true, this is what affirmations are based on. Im sure there are people who you consider to be nice. But when you look closer at them, youll notice they are just an average person. But because they believe they are beautiful and act like that, others see them as nice people!
This technique also works on healing. If you constantly repeat: im healthy, you will feel better.

What you believe about yourself becomes your reality.
If I constantly say that I am fat I am accepting that I am fat and will get fatter, your subconscious will take over and you will not be able to stop eating. Instead of saying I am fat you have to say over and over that You are thin, then you naturally will not want to eat so much.
