I made a lasagne last night for my tea (home made) and couldn't get to sleep because I was itching, managed to drift off, but woke at 5am and couldn't get back to sleep because the itching was unbearable, could it be the food I cooked?

Right let me have a look. I have,NT got a lot of time but i,ll do what i can Right turn around with your back towards me and drop your dressing gown. that's good, now raise your arms and let me have a look. Well you certainly have a rash and it looks a bit nasty, hello do you know that you have a couple of warts? still never they will probaly go away. Now let me see, well your legs dont look to bad and your bum is ok. Right, put your dressing gown back on i will assume that the front is the same. (Ah, i hear you cry, i thought that this guy was a perv, but he,s areal doctor, I,m sorry doc) Well child, My intial diognosis rules out sweating and thombosis and as far as i can tell your liver and kidneys are perfectly in order. Your bum (Not that i took to much notice cough cough) seems to me to be perfectly normal, and my conclusion is that you take 2 packets of senopods and have a couple of days of work. If the rash has,nt gone by then then we will try again The Doctor

Possibly, some people have an allergic reaction to tomatoes,
and if you made lasagne, there should have been tomato
sauce in it. But there are other possibilities. Did you change
your laundry soap lately? I slept in some freshly laundered
sheets at my sister's once and work up with a rash all over
my body that was horribly itchy. So now I make sure that
I only purchase detergents that are dye and perfume free.
To find out what is causing this, you need to eliminate different
things from your diet (after this episode subsides) and then
eat tomatoes one night to see if you break out . It can be
pretty hard to do this on your own. You should go to an
allergy specialist and have a scratch test , it costs a bit, but
is very helpful to learn what you should avoid.

Unless you have very specific reasons for believing it was something you ate (for instance you know you have allergies or specific food allergies), there could be any number of reasons you are experiencing this itching.
Could be a bacterial or fungal infection, some form of parasite, a reaction to poison, and yes, an allergy to something.
You mention unbearable itching, it sounds like you should really go to the emergency room and get yourself checked out. This is one of those situations where you should stop self-diagnosing yourself and seek immediate medical treatment considering you've had these symptoms for a while and they are all over your body.

Hi, I have had this before, that is if it continues for a week or 2. I found it to be lack of sleep and running on nervous energy. Eat 5 bits of fruit a day and some raw nuts if you can. Take some Brewers yeast ( B complex ) as well, to boost the nervous system.

yes you have an allergy to the last thing you ate before bed, not very pleasant is it? you should have taken an anti-histamine right away as allergy's can be dangerous, you can take a anti histamine now it works very quickly,Make a list of all you ate last night, keep that list and take note if it happens again did you eat something that is on that list, good luck sweetie.

Yes it could be- but the fact it's all over your body sounds like washing powder- have you changed the one you use?
If it's really bad I'd go and see the nurse at your doctors.

If you used fresh basil, it could be that. Basil contains a mild stimulant. On the other hand it could be any number of things; pollen, dust, a new shampoo or soap, a change in washing powder.

What you may have experienced is a skin problem called hives. Did you have any sort of rash which looked like that caused by stinging nettles? You may be allergic to something in what you ate - avoid.
