It seems to me that our emotions desires will lead only to self fulfillment. It seems much more rational to base our decisions on logic. This would lead to a much more efficient and orderly society.
I realise that basing our decisions on logic is impossible, but why is it regarded as good to "follow your heart" in our society. Logic is... how should I say this... much more... logical.

I totally agree with you on that Subject.... but as you can tell...simpe as this..over the years...many, many years...America has Soften into abunch of Cry-babies and spoiled little brats... Alot of people in the US do not use logic and try to use their Emotions... such as..Crying,puppy faces, whining, sueing over retarded reasons..things like that...if you look back at like 30 years ago..this wasnt a problem...and many presidents before the recent ones we have now...there a big difference in them also...the old presidents we had were smart and used logic and not things for their own agendas...such as Bush and his agenda with the middle-east. i am 19 years old and im a Republican and american..and i will say...USA will fall someday...from the inside-out first...

psychology does not agree with acting on emotions but prefers that a person just experience the feelings associated with them, because if you don't they are held onto until the process takes place, unexpressed emotions will determine many of the person's behaviors

You are speaking about Western / American culture.

Try Eastern culture, they are much more subtle in re: to emotion. They may indirectly express emotion thru non-verbals.

An aside: I personally believe that our thoughts dictate our emotions.

because sometimes "logical" is just logical...but it won't fulfill what the heart wants..meaning...it won't make you happy
