You are not mentioning where you plan to travel. You also do not mention which country you are a citizen from. So, in a general sense, here it goes,...you need your original passport and your resident card...technically speaking, you are not a canadian citizen, therefore, all former rules apply, visas, transit visas, etc.our travel agent can check TIMATIC for further updates.

While traveling around Canada you need your residency card and passport (especially at airports). To travel outside Canada - you need whatever you need for the passport you hold. So if you want to go to USA - you may need a visa if your passport country requires it (USA or other countries don't care that you are a resident of Canada - they care what your nationailty is). To get back into Canada use your passport and residency card.

Just make sure that you have the right documentation to travel to the country you are going to at you current citizenship but then make sure that you have you residency papers to get back into Canada.

If you are travelling outside of Canada you need the paper that proves your landed immigrant status and your passport.
