Everyone has their own truth and what makes them believe their truth. Mine? While in Iraq I went out side of my cabin to see if I could render any assistance because a rocket landed in the parking area of the PX at Camp Victory outside of Baghdad. As I began to run over to the PX I heard a second rocket coming in. It landed and exploded exactly 97 feet from where I hit the ground. I know because I measured it. The rocket, a 230mm, should have killed me that day. But thank God, literally, there were two 40 foot long metal conex containers between me and where the rocket landed thus saving my life.

To this day and until the day I die and return home to my (our) Heavenly Father I Iwill believe that God allowed me to live to serve some purpose. I don't have a clue as to what that purpose may be but I am certain that I am here to full fill a purpose he has placed me here to complete. And I believe that each of us are here to complete a mission he has designed for each of us to finish. You know I rarely speak of my religious convictions but today I feel the need.

May God bless you all...Amend

Truth will indeed set you free. Free from sin and death. The truth also carries with it it's own reality. So, we have to be able to accept the truth completely which is difficult at best but the rewards far outweigh the earthly pitfalls.

Set you free or get you in a heck of a lot of trouble. Choose your truth telling wisely so as not to hurt others while being truthful.

Knowing the truth? Yes. Telling the truth? Almost never. ie. Being asked 'Do these pants make me look fat?'. You're thinking, yeah, but that's ok. Saying that? Uh-uh, no way. Lifes too short.

Yes.
When we are truthful with God about our desire to become closer to him and we confess all our sins and ask for forgiveness, then the truth sets us free from a life of doubt and worry.

Sorry, did you say the truth OR Jesus?

2006-09-01 03:08:03 · answer #8 · answered by Anonymous · 0 0

yes and no.

my truth is enraveled in science and evolution. as an ex catholic the (warm, fuzzy giving) idea of heaven is gone. replaced with cold reality. while i prefer the warm fuzzy heaven idea its nto real.

and simply wanting it to be real REALLY REALLY hard isnt good enough. im not going to delude myself just so i feel better.

so yes and no.
