a euphemism isn't merely a phrase, but , "pip pip", seems to be a uniquely english phrase.

Not sure if it's purely a Brit phrase, but there's one that particularly amuses me: f*ck the dog = doing nothing.

"What'd you do all day, Willie?"
"Eh, got the mail, called the office... mostly just f*cked the dog."
