I don't want to use chemicals on my hair but I don't have a lot of money, is there even a way to perm your hair at this point?

No, not without chemicals. Home perms are not that expensive, however you have to purchase the rollers or borrow them.

The whole basis of perms (permanents) is chemicals. You can do it yourself (with a friend) - make sure you wear gloves. (you may need to go to somewhere like Sally Beauty Supply to get the Perm) But I don't know of any way that does NOT involve chemicals. The chemicals are what hold the curls in.
Sorry for the bad news.

Save ur money until you can get it done professionally. As a stylist I can tell you...we have more and better perming solutions than you can ever dream of buying over the counter. There are perms for every kind of hair type that you will never find over the counter. You will ruin your hair..guaranteed, if you do it yourself. Besides how are you going to get to the back. You have to roll it a certain way .......oh my! Sweetie, save ur money! Please!

When you have ur money saved make sure you have enough for a tip cause you will want to thank her. Make sure you set up several consultation appts, and check to see if they charge or not. Talk to the stylist and make sure she understands what you want...communication is key and you have to like her/him and vice versa. There are too many prima donna's out there. So make sure you both are on the same page. Doesn't hurt to do this while you are saving either.

Why risk perming your hair on your own, you might just wake up looking like a poodle! seeing as you say you can not afford to just use curlers in your hair over night or a curling wand before you go out - but for a permanent result, save your money and go to a professional...

All perms and relaxers has chemicals in them. Buy a kit at a beauty supply store.

Don't know if they still have such a thing, but my mother used to give herself home permanents. Seemed to work well for her. That was common in the 1950s.
