I am open to new Ideas. I'll listen to a well thought out opposing argument but if you spewing hate and trashing people your answer will be ignored.

Ok, now I know that some Christian are guilty of this too but you can't stuff out of context and still keep it's true meaning. It just doesn't work, if you try hard enough you could possibly get the Bible to say what ever you wanted. It has been done for years. Thats why I read it for myself and make my own conclusions.

You just can't group people into stereotypes like that. It doesn't work that way. That's Like trying to judge a book by the bookmark, it is in the book but just not part of the book. See what I mean?
Christian means Christ-like or followers of Christ. They may think they are Christians, They may have a lot of the same qualities as one too. If I may be so bold I'd say at least 50% of the people who claim to be one don't know what it means to be one.
I am open to share information if you want it but I won't force it upon you. for that will just piss you off and you wouldn't listen to what I have to say. I'll talk if you want to listen, listen, if not ignore me. You have free will, we all do. In truth we are only different by our experiences and what we have learned.

I must ask the same of you, We are not mindless sheep, How are Atheist mindless sheep. If one must believe in a Higher Power for all things in the Universe why can it not be God. Someone is Responsible for making it so. Even Scientist can't disprove that He(God) or Christ ever existed so why can't you believe? Even the Most contriversial Atheist can change their mind. My Pastor has had the pleasure of being at an Atheist bed side as they were dying, and asked for forgiveness for living such a life the was considered by some to be antogonistical, hateful and unwanted period. Maybe not all are of the same beliefs and have to be hateful, but I have not many that are not. To me they are in the same catagory as the Hardliners or fanatics from the Middle East, breeding hate to all that don't believe as they do. I have had the fortunate and sometimes unfortunate pleasure of being in some other countries where you can die for the very reason you believe or don't believe in their religion? So again I ask why are you like a mindless sheep? Don't stereotype it only serves to make people dislike you more. If you are truly in this to open you horizons and maybe more accepting to different things then good for you. You can also not discount the Bible, It was not just some manuscript that somone dreamt up, it has been around for thousands of years? what do you say to that? How can you explain some its writings? Yes there have been some debates over its meaning, but what good book has not. Lets take for instance Huckleberry Finn or Tom Sawyer, yes I know off the beaten path, but just hear me out. These books are considered Master Pieces of Literature, but becasue they were written in the Language of the Day, some schools won't allow kids to read them, because they use the word "Ni*ger" in them. But when you look at the Language of the day, that was widely used during that ulgy period in America and Other countries around the world. SO just because someone didn't like it and took it out of the book and reprinted it, didn't make it not happen or not be true...E-mail if you think I am wrong I can respect criticism good bad or indifferent...

I personally think they're sheep yet to be shorn mostly because while there are a few Christians who have actually contemplated their religion and chose to stick with Christianity for valid reasons, the vast majority has not. I've come across more people that claim Christianity is the ONLY true faith simply because it's what they grew up with. It's what they were told all their lives by their parents, preachers, and peers.

they allow a book written quite literally thousands of years ago to dictate their whole lives without so much as questioning the validity of the book or the rules it sets forth. most people can look at the laws that ruled a country some 100 years ago and see the absurdity of some of them, and the need to walk away from outdated views of the world at large. but look at the rules in the bible and they are sacred, even if some of them are barbaric, thoroughly unjust and, if nothing else, had outlived their usefulness 1500 years ago.
anyone who unquestioningly allows someone else to make all their decisions for them is a mindless sheep. most christians fall under that category. then again, so do followers of many other organized religions.

in my opinion, they often times openely declare that they do base their entire world view on mere opinion. They call it faith. Thats ok for them as long as it doesnt interfer with my life. but christians have doctorines supporting the view of interfering with mine and my families life. They blindly follow their blind leaders. I think Jesus is reported to have said something about that also. They dont seek after truth, they would prefer blind faith. Mindless sheep.
EDIT:
I not only read the bible but investigate it. And clearly there is no reliable evidence to prove Jesus even existed. Despite what christian scholars say. it is clearly debatable and this of course shows their is no undeniable proof.Even the old testament has unrealistic claims which are clearly mythical in nature..

If you ask a christian to question why they believe, they choose to answer with cyclical logic like "because he is God". The fact that the bible contains miracles is proof enough for them. There are so many people today that are at their wits-end that they want to kill themselves. Then they latch onto God and say that he saved them. To me that is a sheep in denial. They are not looking at the circumstance that would make them believe in a murderer. Yes, he IS a murderer! If you read the bible, God has killed more humans than any other living being. Yet he is considered synonymous with the word "Love". Only a sheep would overlook that contradiction.

according to the book of revelations when God creates the new Jerusalem those in the walls shall fall and worship continuously (mindless sheep, ego booster) while those who are not shall be outside in the wasteland ... not hell, hell is reserved for Satan and his demons... which will not be destroyed but put into the fiery pit for ten thousand years upon which the evil one will emerge from once again.

If all the evil is destroyed the the ying and yang is destroyed and you will be left with chaos

I wouldn't say that all Christians are. It's the ones that are always trying to convert others when they don't even know their own damn religion. These type of Christians are usually the kind that only became a Christian to conform not because they truly believe it in their heart. Those are the ones that I would refer to as mindless sheep.

Christians, in believing the Bible, are sheep. They manage to accept the Bible without proof or reason (reason to accept it, not that they are necessarily unreasonable). They are told what to believe, and follow, rarely questioning orders. It it only appropriate that the Bible makes so many references to shepherds and their flocks.

whew.

okay. christianity can be compared and is no different than any other religion out there. we can see that other religions are absurd and false. the gods associated with those religions are obviously just as absurd (like Zeus, Hera and Hercules).

you christians basically beleive in one of these religions. i compare you to someone who woul;d say "what, you dont beleive in Zeus?"

its absurd. there is no magic, there are no miracles, there is no afterlife. that is the reality of the matter. my position isnt based on faith or lack of faith, my position is based on reality. in the real world you die and you rot and that is it.

you guys on the otherhand are sheep because youre willing to beleive fairytales that are told to you because you REALLY REALLY want to beleive that theyre true...plus the warm fuzzy feeling they give you isnt bad either. you WANT a heaven to exist so you can go to it -and the empty promise of heaven is the only reason you beleive, not a generalization, its fact.

youre a sheep because you choose to replace common sense with fairy tales someone else made up. you CHOOSE to continue to follow those beliefs rather than accept reality. THAT is why youre a sheep. and THAt is barely even scratching the surface.

How can an atheist give you an answer to something that they haven't experienced or know nothing about?? It is like asking a guy that from birth is in a wheelchair what does it take to climb Mt. Everest
