Is this true that anyone(no matter what the religion) who understands and accepts the verse of John 3:16 in the Bible will go to heaven no matter what? I mean because me personally i love the lord with all my heart, but i did read John 3:16, and i aslo read other parts in the Bible where it says you will not enter heaven if u commit those sins. And yes i know God forgives for anything becuase he loves us, but i dont believe that all it takes to go to heaven is believe in Jesus. I mean if that was the case then why are there other rules to follow in the bible ( 10 commendments, ect.) In my opinion , how i inteperted that verse is that believing in Jesus is one of the things required of you to go to heaven. any suggestions ?? what do ya think?

After Christ, the 10 commandments were not so much requirements as they are highly suggested for a Christ-centered life. We should follow them out of love for our Lord.

If *believe* means only knowlege, then NO...because the demons believe and shudder, as they will be put into the lake of fire, which means the second death.
But if *believe* is a basis for the continual pursuit that a follower of Jesus would show, or knowledge followed by works of faith, then YES.
About heaven...the Bible teaches that faithful mankind will live on a Paradise earth, and that going to *heaven* or the 'new heavens' actually means the new government over the earth, the New Jerusalem, whereby Jesus and the immortal co-rulers will be here to rule the earth forever. Isaiah 65:17-25, Revelation 20,21,22. Ephesians 6:12.
God GAVE his only begotten Son....

I'm comfortable with my beliefs. My answer is Yes!
If you believe that God loved the world and every living thing in it so much, that he/she could allow Jesus Christ to live and die the way he did, and you can accept the teachings of Jesus as truth, then you should be good to go.
When you read the bible, try to focus on Jesus's words and you will clearly understand what Jesus stood for. Love was his first and only requirement. The 10 commandments are impossible to break if you have Love.
Notice that the very next verse: is about judgement. Many of us are quick to judge, and not very good at Love. If you believe in the words of Jesus and believe in what he taught us all....yes I do think you are on the right path.

Jesus said if you love me you will obey my commandments. obeying the commandments is not what is required to go to heaven, it is accepting Jesus as your Lord and savior- a natural response to accepting Jesus as you Lord and savior is obeying the commands.
Jesus said you will know them by their fruit.
One can obey all of the commands but never have accepted Christ- this will not earn them salvation. The thief on the cross never had an opportunity to obey the commands but fully accepted Christ with His whole heart- he was promised salvation.
I believe had he lived he would have FOLLOWED Christ in word and deed. If someone claims to have been following Christ for the past ten years and is not obeying the commandments, I would be highly suspect. A sign that someone is saved, has accepted Christ and loves Him and is committed to follow Him will be that their walk begins to look more and more like His.
Accepting Christ is not part of it- it is the whole thing- but in accpeting Christ, truly, your lifestyle will change- it is just an outward manifestation of what is insideyou can not earn salvation- there is NOTHING you can purpose to do that will get it for you- it is a free gift- given through the grace of god, but that grace does not leave you the way you are , it is life changing- because of it you obey, not for it!

Sin is such a dumb word. I dont believe in hell. God would never create such a place. God is not suposed to be feared. He wants you all to be happy, loves you equally, human kind created negativity, to say that god sends people a firey damnation for eternity would be describing him as human and we all know that is not true, he is all perfect, all loving. unless you choose to turn away from him you will go to heaven. If you do turn away from him you will simply go back into incarnation but you'll eventually find god again. I believe that we all wrote a blueprint of our earth life before we came here. We are living it out, most of the time its like we are a catalyst for a higher learning experience, to perfect our souls with all experiences we cant experience in heaven because there is no negativity there.

Jhn 6:29 Jesus answered and said unto them, "This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent."
Jesus's blood cleanse all your sins past, present, and future. You are declared righteous by God - it is nothing that you earn - it is a declaration.
Eph 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: [it is] the gift of God:
Eph 2:9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
Read the book of Galations again -
Gal 2:16 Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.
You are a real Christian? Yes? Do you ever want to sin again? No. Do you wish you would never sin again? Yes. Do you have the ability to live a sinless life? No.
But you believe "Phl 2:13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of [his] good pleasure. " God causes you to do good and to desire good. You can't and do not even have the power to muster up that. Faith is a gift from God. You are chosen by God - you have nothing to do with your salvation... so how can you maintain something you did not make happen to begin with? This is the life of GRACE.
Pray for understanding of Grace. It is the most freeing thing. God sees Jesus when he sees you. He is not nit-picking and tearing apart every little thought or action in your life...He only sees the blood - holiness. He has given you a desire for holiness, he has declared you are holy, and he will make you holy. You can not do it. Nobody can. You believe on Jesus - that is the only 'work' you are to do. And he gave you the faith to believe - you don't even have that... We are just poor, blind and naked until he comes to us and saves us.
And the only thing you can do is just BE and let God finish what He started in you - because you can't do it. JUST BE.

I wish that were true, but that is not what the Bible teaches. Read what Jesus said to the seven Churches in the Book of Revelation. All we have to do is believe to receive salvation, but it is another thing to keep it. Paul warns us to work out our salvation with fear and trembling.

If I insult your religion I apologize, but I wouldn't believe that verse from John even if I did read it.
Now if the lord wanted us to all be the same, or whatever higher power their is, if we weren't meant to form our own opinions and have different likes or dislikes we wouldn't have a conscious to even sprout those ideas and thoughts.
If you believe that your God loves you, then understanding one verse in his book doesnt matter.

Well, if you're following Jesus, he gave two commandments: Love God above all others and love your neighbor as youself. Check those and then check the Ten Commandments; Jesus just summed them up neatly, and if you're on top of those two I don't think you have anything else to worry about.

According to the theology of every Christian sect, John 3:16 is all that is required. Everything els is an "aid' to living well, but not necessary.
